JOB TITLE: Legal AssistantLOCATIONPhiladelphiaOVERVIEW Duane Morris LLP, a law firm with more than 900 attorneys in offices across the United States and internationally, is asked by a broad array of clients to provide innovative solutions to today's legal and business challenges.SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced IP Litigation Legal Assistant to assist Attorney's in our Philadelphia office. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of strong patent (domestic and foreign) prosecution experience including. Daily duties include conducting research, preparing documents for court hearings, scheduling meetings, and providing case status updates to clients.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDraft correspondence, memos, letters, etc. for respective IP attorneys and/or paralegalsInterface directly with clients, including reporting filing of documents on behalf of clients.Review, docket, and route mail and correspondences accordingly in docketing management software.Prepare and file U.S. patent and trademark applications electronically through the United States Patent and Trademark Office website.Check status of specific matters with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.Establish and maintain paper and electronic filing systems; classify, sort and file correspondence, records, and other documents.Provide support for the firm's monthly billing process, track attorney time records and billing.Obtain, review, and analyze various records, reports, and other case materialsQUALIFICATIONS3+ years of current patent prosecution experience.Strong organizational skills to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and assignments.Ability to work well under pressure and the ability to participate in a team environment.Excellent written and oral communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and WordUnderstanding of state, federal, and appellate court rules, legal ethics, and professional practice standardsBENEFITS:Comprehensive healthcare, dental, vision, and prescription plans.Commuter, HSA and FSA spending accountsShort-term and long-term disability and life insurance coverage401k and Pension Plan20 vacation days, 11 paid holidaysEmployee Referral Bonus ($3,000.00)EEO STATEMENT:Duane Morrisis an equal opportunity employer.
