We pride ourselves on combining quality, craftsmanship, and modern design to create timeless, versatile pieces that are soft AF!Project SummaryNaadam is seeking a Director-Level Men's Knitwear Design Consultant to help grow our wholesale menswear collection. This role is project-based, with a focus on leading the design and execution of seasonal knitwear assortments from concept to final fit. Working closely with the SVP of Design, you'll lead the seasonal product design execution while ensuring alignment with our brand's aesthetic and business goals.Scope of WorkDevelop and design a comprehensive men's sweater collection, including tops, bottoms, and outerwear, with a focus on innovation in yarns, stitches, patterns, trims, and colors, as well as maintaining cost targets and IMU goalsStay current on menswear trends and create clear, directional design boards that align with seasonal concepts and strategies (including material, color, silhouette, details, and styling)Collaborate with the SVP of Design to select materials and oversee knit-down development.Work closely with cross-functional teams to present seasonal assortments and ensure successful execution of design milestones.Create tech packs with clear and detailed specifications, measurements and construction diagramsPartner with SVP to review final protos, adjust fit as needed, and color up the assortmentSkillsCreativity and a strong ability to develop innovative knitwear concepts that meet brand objectives.Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, and Procreate, with strong hand and computer sketching skills.Deep knowledge of yarns, gauges, stitches, and sweater constructionExcellent at creating tech packs and full capability to fit a sweater; all categories.Strong communication and presentation skills for sharing concepts and progress with cross-functional teams.Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment.Qualifications 7+ years of experience in sweater and menswear design, with a focus on wholesale preferred.Bachelor's degree in fashion design, with a specialization in sweater design.Based in New York, with flexibility to collaborate in person as needed.Rate$100-$120/hour, based on experience.
