We maintain the highest ethical standards and personalized services within a culture that encourages professional and personal growth.Job PurposeThe Paralegal is responsible for providing critical support to the Legal + Risk Management department as well as other key company executives. The role requires handling sensitive information with a high degree of discretion and the ability to draft clear and professional communications. The position requires the capacity to identify issues, problem solve, develop customized solutions, and suggest process improvements. The ideal candidate is flexible with an overall focus on immigration but must be willing to provide support to other legal team functions as well as take on special projects. Primary Responsibilities:Immigration:Act as the primary resource for the firm's employment-based visa and green card processes which includes coordinating Human Resources, foreign national employees, their supervisors and outside counsel on the preparation and submission of various petitionsAssist foreign national employees on F-1/OPT status with STEM extensionsAdvise foreign national employees on documents required for international travel and provide company letters for the sameFacilitate the employer side of the annual H-1B lottery, and assist with H-1B petitionsLead individual green card strategy discussions alongside supervisors and outside counselWork with outside counsel and the Recruiting team to coordinate internal postings for H-1B petitions and green card casesProvide HR/Recruiting with analysis of candidate status and future needsMaintain and track foreign national visa statuses Maintain public access filesConsult with Employee Services on I-9 compliance, tax exemptions, and other immigration-related questionsProvide stakeholder education and consultationMonitor U.S. immigration policy and advise internal stakeholders accordinglyProcess and code invoice payments Administrative:Draft and edit documents (memos, records, meeting agendas and minutes) Proofread documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, readability, etc.Assist with development of paperless e-filing system and scan documents Sort and organize a variety of financial and project related filesBrainstorm and develop options for a self-service training library for the firmsQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary duties.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree Five years of recent corporate immigration professional administrative support experience specifically with H-1B visas and employment-based green cardsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Understands the broader business purpose of tasks assigned Demonstrated superior verbal and written communication skillsAbility to maintain strict confidentiality in handling materials and sensitive information discretely Proven ability to apply good judgment in decision-making and the sharing of information Demonstrated ability to handle and manage multiple prioritiesProven ability to work independently and with initiative in completing and coordinating numerous work assignments, while managing multiple priorities High degree of personal organization, professionalism, self-motivation and integrityStrong teamwork orientation with the ability to share responsibilities and interact harmoniously with co-workers and others from across the Company Working Conditions and Physical Effort:Work is normally performed in a typical hybrid office environmentNo or very limited physical effort is requiredNo or very limited exposure to physical risk
