Social Worker (Bilingual Spanish)

A nonprofit in Queens is currently seeking a Bilingual Spanish Social Worker to join their growing team.About the Opportunity:Start Date: ASAPAssignment Length: Ongoing (Contract to Hire)Schedule: Monday - FridayHours: 8am - 4pmResponsibilities:The Social Worker will:Assist with coordination and facilitation of parent and staff workshops;Advocate and collaborate with community agencies to support child, family and agency outcomesCoordinate and facilitate Health Advisory Committee meetings in accordance with Head Start guidelinesMonitor and collect data for funding streams, monthly reports and annual PIR.Monitor compliance using electronic data management systemsEstablish and maintain communication with parents to insure opportunities for active program involvement and participation as well as crisis intervention.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field plus 5 years' experience working in Human Services, Psychology or related field that includes course work in principles of social work, child development, counseling and/or psychologySpeak, read and write fluently in both Spanish and EnglishDesired Skills:Proficiency in Microsoft Office products;Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently;Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and to multi-task;Willingness and skills to deal with sensitive family situations in a non-threatening and professional manner
