Military Student Onboarding Manager for the Office of Military and Veterans' ServicesAre you an experienced enrollment or student success coach who wants to help military veterans? Mission StatementTransforming the educational journeys of military-affiliated students to further their lives of commitment and service.Who we NeedVVC seeks an experienced individual with a strong admissions background and/or enrollment coach expertise to serve veteran and dependent students at the Office of Military and Veterans' Services (OMVS) within Fordham University. Summary of DutiesProvide 1:1 coaching to veterans and dependents from the moment they are admitted to the university and throughout their academic lifecycleRuns orientation events to provide expert onboarding advice, and manages onboarding communications for new students based on a deep understanding of the steps required for students to receive military/veteran benefits and related servicesProvide recommendations and advice to help military connected students successfully enter or re-enter an academic environment to include coaching them to a strong start at Fordham University in an effort to drive first term student success and retentionHelp students troubleshoot onboarding problems while serving as an advocate and liaison within the university Manage a growing volume of assigned students to include remaining aware of those with signs of high risk justifying added attention and supportPrioritize, and when needed, escalate students showing signs of high risk to your manager and to appropriate university and pre-vetted applicable resources to support their short and long term success Collaborate with colleagues to design standard onboarding plans for veteran students, then stand up the systems and curriculum required to support themIdentify and implement ongoing improvements as the military connected student community grows Identify opportunities for professional developmentRequirementsSignificant prior experience as an admission advisor, enrollment and/or success coach in a university setting, ideally working with U.S. military veterans Mission-minded commitment to positive outcomes for veterans and their familiesExcellent people skills, ability to collaborate and solve problemsExperience recording and sharing your work with students via a CRMPrior experience formally mentoring and developing othersA systems thinking orientation, with a desire to build new onesAbility to work in the U.S.Proficient skills and working knowledge of cloud-based and computer software systems including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and team communication applicationsBachelor's degree required; Masters degree preferredDirect connection to the military strongly preferredLocationOn-siteWhy join VVC?VVC is a thriving organization, purpose-built to serve veterans and their family members who are going back to school and making a transition to civilian employmentGrab an opportunity to shape veterans' experiences and to design a system that scales, right from the beginningWork alongside dedicated, talented team members who want you to succeedDirect connection to the military strongly preferredCompetitive pay and benefitsSalary$75,000 - $85,000Other Important DetailsVVC is a distributed organization.
