We support clients in a wide array of industries including semiconductor, biotechnology, aerospace/defense industry, solar, energy storage, automotive and many others. Our highly-skilled chemists assist other scientists and engineers from companies in these fields to support a wide array of activities such as quality assurance, contamination studies, R&D and failure analysis.How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?Our Organic Lab specializes in a wide variety of measurements including QC/QA, Failure Analysis and R&D support. We use analysis techniques including ion, liquid and gas chromatography, and leaching of samples for subsequent analyses. The selected candidate will in charge of part of the Organic Lab at our Fremont, CA lab in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area, home of Silicon Valley.ResponsibilitiesProvide support for establishing a Safety 1st team cultureResponsible for managing a team of Chemists and/or Lab Technicians, including overseeing performance management activities, employee coaching and development, goal setting, managing and approving timesheets and PTO requests, etc.Prioritize the team's daily production activities and ensure they have the resources needed to meet our customer requirementsEnsure staff follow Standard Operating Procedures and submit change requests to ensure SOPs are current and accurateParticipate in Quality/Intelex program and ensure the accurate evaluation, interpretation, and verification of data (samples, calibration, quality control) for analysis performed by the teamProvide daily updates to the leadership team as necessaryParticipate in production activities during team absences and during capacity demand events, including, but not limited to, GC/GC-MS, IC and LC/LC-MS analyses.Ensure that the team's instrument fleet is properly maintainedAssist the lab manager with the procurement of consumables and spare partsEnsure the team is adequately trained, which includes preparing a cross-training plan in support of a training gap analysisSustain 6S programIdentify and implement continuous improvementsAre you a MATCH? RequirementsB.S. in Chemistry or related field and 2-4 years experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience1-2 years supervisory experience in a laboratory environmentDemonstrated understanding of a wide variety of analytical techniques, with in depth knowledge of liquid GC/GC-MS, LC/LC-MS and IC.Demonstrated understanding of analytical concepts and experimental designAbility to troubleshoot and apply analytical thinking regarding chemical analyses and processesStrong computer skills (Scientific instrument software, Microsoft Office Suite/Google Suite, LIMS concepts)Proven success working in a team environmentStrong, effective communication skills (written and verbal)Must have strong initiative and be self-motivatedStrong organizational skillsPossess continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated success in identifying and implementing process improvementsMust be able to wear all required personal protective equipmentAbility to perform standard computer work (using mouse and keyboard, sitting, etc.) for extended periods of time, up to 7 hours per dayAbility to lift up to 35 lbsThe Salary rate range for this position in California is $110,000.00 to $115,000.00Benefits offeredMedical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
