We exist not only to meet but to surpass the needs of our customers, and our unwavering focus is on operational efficiency.SUMMARY:The Project Estimator is responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for all structural fixtures, displays, and branded environments/projects. This role involves gathering and analyzing project requirements, determining timelines and material costs, and working closely with sales, design, and production teams. The specialist ensures that pricing is aligned with company standards and that estimates reflect project complexity and client expectations.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop detailed cost estimates based on project specifications, materials, labor, and manufacturing timelines provided in the project qualification stage.Use cost estimation methods, including cost of goods (COG) multipliers, square footage pricing, historical pricing, and custom calculations, as needed.Prepare ballpark pricing for projects as required by sales, ensuring estimates align with project scope and client expectations.Review standard timelines for design, manufacturing, and prototyping stages; propose adjustments to the timeline for non-standard projects in collaboration with the Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Design Department.Analyze pricing structures, including both domestic and overseas manufacturing options, to offer competitive bids that meet client and company goals.Enter estimated hours, materials, and costs on a line-item basis into project management software (Switchblade) for transparent tracking and client review.Collaborate with the sales team to deliver initial pricing to clients, providing clarity on cost breakdowns, material choices, and design elements.Participate in client meetings when needed to explain pricing decisions, timeline adjustments, or cost-saving alternatives.Revise estimates as project specifications evolve, working with the design team to incorporate client feedback and update pricing as required.Maintain detailed records of all estimates, including material costs, labor hours, and pricing calculations, in the Switchblade system.Ensure all pricing data is stored accurately, accessible to relevant teams, and updated with any changes from client feedback or design revisions.Mark completed estimates in the system and notify the sales team when bids are ready for client review.Regularly review pricing practices and estimation techniques, identifying areas for cost efficiency and process improvement.Collaborate with the Estimating and Production teams to refine cost models based on project feedback, ensuring competitive and accurate pricing.Stay updated on market trends, material costs, and industry benchmarks to keep pricing aligned with industry standards.QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, construction management, or related field preferred.Proven experience as a Project Estimator in the construction/fabrication/manufacturing industry.Experience in Pricing, estimating, or cost analysis within manufacturing, construction, or a similar industry.Proficiency with project management or estimating software (e.g., Switchblade) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach to pricing and cost management.Strong understanding of construction/fabrication management principles, including cost control and contract negotiation.Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.Ability to effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors, and team members.Experience in project management is highly desirable.COMPETENCIES:Accuracy: Consistently delivers precise cost estimates and thorough documentation.Analytical Thinking: Uses data and historical information to calculate costs effectively.Customer Service: Communicates clearly with internal teams and clients, addressing pricing inquiries professionally.Adaptability: Adjusts estimates based on project changes or new client information.Organizational Skills: Manages multiple projects, ensuring all pricing data is documented and accessible.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:Primarily office-based with occasional visits to production areas to review materials or processes as needed for accurate estimating.Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods.Frequently required to stand and walkFrequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterityFrequently required to talk or hearFrequently utilize visual acuity to read information, and/or use a keyboardOccasionally required to lift/push/carry items less than 25 pounds
