Job TitleDesktop Infrastructure EngineerSummaryWe are seeking an experienced Desktop Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our organization's desktop infrastructure environments. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Windows desktop, server, and enterprise technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitect, implement, and maintain desktop infrastructure environments, including installation, upgrades, high-level troubleshooting, patching, and software deployment.Develop and document architectural designs for endpoint hardware (both physical and virtual) as well as operating system configurations and management capabilities.Perform secure baseline image creation and tailoring of Windows operating system images for specific hardware configurations from a common core baseline.Conduct Windows 7/10 Readiness and Compatibility Assessment of hardware, software, and infrastructure environment.Support application packaging, deployments, documentation, and release control in an Enterprise environment.Writes documentation, including project plans, backup plans, business continuance, installation procedures, and troubleshooting tips. Creates diagrams, including technical topology.Develop Windows 10 Base Image, crafting the operating system and GPO settings so that they integrate with all enterprise hardware and software.Create/maintain custom task sequences and other custom code for front-end image tegrate BitLocker and MBAM into imaging processes.Provide desktop management automation through scripting to deliver consistent and predictable services.Packaging and releasing software via software center.Maintain documentation of activities and checklists for various tasks in respective area of responsibility.Manage incidents with hardware vendors in event of problem relating to A supported hardware platform.Keep abreast of changes occurring in client environment that could have impact on deliverables.Ensure drivers and UEFI/BIOS levels and configurations are certified.Ensure images load without errors and completely in all supported scenarios (e.g. Vendor staging, DMA, bare metal re-image, USB Flash Drive, USB Drive, Network, etc.).Validate each image meets customers supplied requirements and internal quality guidelines.Conduct sanity testing of images before it is delivered for QA testing.RequirementsAt least 4 years specializing in Windows desktop, server, and enterprise technologies.Working understanding of Active Directory including Kerberos, GPO, LDAP, and Forest/Domain design/deployment.At least 5 years of Active directory experience including establishing and management of GPOs to enable features and control security settings.At least 5 years of experience using Microsoft SCCM to create, manage, and deploy application packages, operating systems images, and patches.Experience configuring and maintaining Microsoft Windows security technologies including Windows MBAM and Windows BitLocker.Demonstrated ability to deploy and support Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems including configuration, customization, and automation.At least 7 years specializing in Windows desktop, server, and enterprise technologies.Bachelors Degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and 8-12 years of related experience.
