Job Title: DFM PCBA EngineerLocation:Cupertino, CADuration: 12 Months (with possible extension)Payrate: $50/hr. to $57/hr.Job Summary:We are seeking a talented and innovative DFM PCBA Engineer to join our team of specialists dedicated to producing high-quality, reliable electronics. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, guiding products from proof of concept to mass production. Your expertise will ensure the manufacturability of product designs, and you will develop assembly processes and PCB panelization. You will also solve complex problems using structured methodologies and data analysis and contribute to innovation through new discoveries and patent filings.Key Responsibilities:Product Development: Ensure the manufacturability of assigned product designs by applying design guidelines.Process Design: Build assembly processes and design PCB panelization to meet production requirements.Problem Solving: Utilize structured problem-solving techniques and data analysis methods to resolve manufacturing issues.Innovation: Share new discoveries with peers and file patents for novel ideas developed during the process.Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Design, Electrical Engineering, PCB Layout, Program Office, Reliability, TPM, Component Quality, and Capex.Communication: Maintain frequent and effective communication with peers and leadership teams to provide updates on product status.Support: Provide in-person or remote support to factory and regional teams during product builds.Education & Experience:A degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Materials Science Engineering is desired.Strong, directly applicable background will also be considered.Key Qualifications:Creativity & Curiosity: Deep interest in materials science and electronics packaging.Experience: 3+ years of research or process development experience in a relevant field.Knowledge: Familiarity with microelectronics fabrication and PCBA assembly processes.Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work with multi-functional teams to define requirements and performance metrics for new products and processes.Self-Management: Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and deliver results in a development role.
