DEPARTMENT & SCHOOL: Student Affairs, School of Professional StudiesTITLE THIS POSITION REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Student Wellness TIME COMMITMENT: Approximately 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday , (This position includes significant evening and weekend hours)DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: May 27, 2025-August 15, 2025MODALITY In Person COMPENSATION: $25/hour Position SummaryReporting to the Assistant Director of Student Wellness, the incumbent performs a variety of tasks to support the Pre-College Programs at the School of Professional Studies. The Wellness Coordinator will lead initiatives to promote mental health and wellness among students and interns in the Pre-College community. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Student Wellness, the Coordinator supports wellness programming, crisis triage, and provides training for Pre-College staff. Additionally, this role will be tasked with upholding university policies and protocols related to student conduct, protection of minors, and health & wellness.Please note that this is a non-clinical case management position that does not provide clinical supervision towards professional licensure or certification.ResponsibilitiesIn consultation with the Office of Student Wellness:Programming Co-develop and conduct workshops in partnership with the Assistant Director of Student Wellness and Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, that focus on a proactive approach to mental health and wellness; this includes but is not limited to mental and emotional health, stress management, self care, physical health, financial well being, nutrition and time managementAssist faculty and staff as they incorporate wellness concepts and self-care in their interactions with students Serve as a co-liaison for the Pre-College Programs to CU Health and related officesDevelop engagement initiatives that foster social connection, learning and student developmentCrisis Triage, Referrals and Outreach Serves in an on-call capacity for emergency/crisis situations (if living on campus) Interact with faculty and staff on a regular basis to identify students of concern and ensure these are on the radar of appropriate department leaders Participate in tabling events to promote wellness services to students, create weekly newsletters centering on wellbeing topics and develop marketing strategies to promote upcoming wellness eventsAssist with logistical details related to event planning including but not limited to organizing spaces, purchasing items, set up and break down of event and coordination day ofTraining Coordinate, organize, present and promote trainings on an on-going basis for students, faculty and program staff on topics including but not limited to: Mental Health First Aid, Suicide Awareness and Prevention, Ally, Bystander Intervention and Stress ManagementPERFORMS OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED OR REQUESTEDThis position involves a considerable amount of physical activity and movement around campus and New York City. Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or High School equivalency diplomaPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited university in the United StatesBe currently enrolled in or have graduated from a non-clinical mental health, counseling, social work, public health or related master's degree program Other RequirementsExperience managing health and wellness initiatives in a university settingExperience working with youthMust undergo a mandatory background check - employment contingent upon results Must not hold consecutive employment elsewhere while in this role
