Position Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Paralegal with a strong background in litigation and collections to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting attorneys with case management, document preparation, client communication, and research. This position requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to handle a high-volume caseload, and a thorough understanding of litigation and debt collection processes.Key Responsibilities:Assist attorneys with all aspects of litigation and collections cases, from inception to resolution.Draft, file, and manage legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery responses.Conduct legal research and analyze case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to litigation and collections matters.Manage case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with applicable laws.Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to coordinate case activities and gather information.Support attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations.Review and summarize case files, financial records, and other documentation related to debt collection.Monitor deadlines and maintain a detailed calendar of case activities, ensuring timely action on all matters.Assist with enforcement of judgments, including garnishments, liens, and asset recovery efforts.Stay current on changes in laws and procedures related to litigation and collections.Qualifications:Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, or a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.Experience: 3+ years of paralegal experience, with a focus on litigation and collectionsSkills:Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw) and case management software.Strong knowledge of court rules and procedures.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic filing systems (e-filing).Preferred: Experience working with collections law, creditor rights, and debt enforcement strategies.
