Job SummaryThe AFC KYC Compliance Officer plays a critical role in the AFC KYC team within the Compliance Department. This position is responsible for opening, amending, and reviewing new and existing customer KYC (Know Your Customer) profiles to ensure accuracy and completion in alignment with established policies and procedures. The Compliance Officer will manage AML/KYC-related key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring timely, efficient, and consistent processing of profiles while maintaining a high level of quality. Additionally, the role requires assessing AML/KYC risks and implementing effective monitoring and control solutions. The AFC KYC Compliance Officer will support the BSA/AML/OFAC Coordinator by maintaining the branch's KYC program and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.Specific AccountabilitiesKYC/CIP Responsibilities:Evaluate client AML/KYC risk to determine required KYC information and documentation based on entity type, products, and regulatory requirements.Review and analyze client documentation for accuracy in line with internal KYC procedures.Collaborate with Relationship Managers and the KYC Support Unit to collect onboarding documentation and address escalations or issues during the client due diligence process.Notify the BSA/AML/OFAC Coordinator of late or incomplete review requests and assist in reporting relevant issues to senior management.Work closely with the ISPNY Quality Control Function to resolve any issues promptly and accurately.Conduct screenings for negative news, PEP (Politically Exposed Persons), and sanctions using tools like World-Check and internal systems.Provide guidance and support to Relationship Managers and the KYC Support Unit on KYC-related matters.Communicate required or missing documentation to ensure timely completion of customer due diligence files.Internal Compliance Responsibilities:Assist the BSA/AML/OFAC Coordinator with general compliance matters, special projects, and team support.Escalate risks and issues to the BSA/AML/Sanctions Coordinator to ensure proper onboarding in accordance with KYC procedures.Maintain tracking logs and coordinate correspondence with Relationship Managers and the KYC Support Unit.Participate in special projects directed by the Head of KYC and Sanctions Advisory, as well as BSA/AML/Sanctions Compliance Testing initiatives.Knowledge and Skills RequiredExperience: 2-5 years of practical experience in the banking industry, preferably in a compliance or operations capacity.AML/KYC Expertise: Strong ability to identify AML risks with a thorough understanding of AML/KYC policies and procedures.Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with risk factors affecting specific products and industries is highly desirable.
