Infrastructure EngineerMUST be local to New York City. Hybrid Schedule, 4 days onsiteSalary Range: $125k to $145 No SponsorshipNYC based Private Equity firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This newly created role is critical in supporting and maintaining our on-premises Windows and networking infrastructure while optimizing our Azure and Office 365 environments. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our systems, working closely with internal stakeholders and external Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to align IT operations with our business objectives. Additionally, you'll support our CAB (Change Advisory Board) manager in driving effective change management processes.This position reports to the Head of Infrastructure and offers a hybrid work arrangement, with the primary office located in New York City.Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Management:Oversee and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory and Group Policy management.Manage Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, and networking components.Support and optimize our Meraki networking infrastructure, including SD-WAN, switches, and wireless access points.Administer and enhance Office 365 configurations, ensuring integration with other systems.Privileged Access Management (PAM):Manage and maintain BeyondTrust PAM to secure access to critical systems.Implement and monitor best practices for privileged account security.Change Management Support:Occasionally lead and facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to ensure changes are thoroughly evaluated and approved.Work to enhance and mature problem management procedures, focusing on identifying root causes, preventing recurring issues, and improving incident resolution processes.Work closely with stakeholders to document, plan, and execute infrastructure changes.Collaboration and Task Management:Act as the primary liaison with MSPs to ensure timely task resolution, adherence to service level agreements, and project alignment.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide infrastructure support for business-critical projects.Monitoring and Optimization:Implement and maintain monitoring tools to ensure system uptime and performance.Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to enhance infrastructure reliability and efficiency.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, and policies.Provide regular reports on infrastructure health, performance metrics, and change management activities.Skills and QualificationsRequired Technical Skills:Proficiency in managing Windows Server and Hyper-V environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and file server configurations.Expertise in Azure cloud services, including resource deployment, cost optimization, and security best practices.Strong knowledge of Meraki networking technologies, including SD-WAN, VLANs, and wireless configurations.Experience with Office 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.Familiarity with Privileged Access Management tools like BeyondTrust PAM.Preferred Technical Skills:Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python for automation tasks.Understanding of ITIL or other change management frameworks.Experience with Entra ID (Azure AD), DNS/DHCP management, and VPN technologies.Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions, such as Rubrik or Veeam.Exposure to cybersecurity principles and tools, including MFA and endpoint security solutions.Experience:4-6 years of experience managing infrastructure in hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud).Prior experience working in a role that required coordination with MSPs or external vendors.Certifications (Preferred):Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Solutions Architect Expert.Cisco Meraki certifications (CMNO/CMSS).ITIL Foundation Certification.
