Aim for amazing and beyond.About the RoleThis role is responsible for ongoing pricing and margin improvements for specific portions of the RS Americas business. The selected candidate will set pricing and margin strategies and tactics thru analysis of the relevant competitive data, identifying opportunities for improved resale pricing and margins, working closely with internal departments (Product Management, Supply Chain) to gather input and alignment.This role will also initially take on some level of shared responsibility for maintenance / upkeep of department-wide analytic tooling and processes supporting price and margin improvement initiatives.Responsibilties Resale Price Setting for specific business segmentsContinuous review and adjustment of pricing rules in conjunction with build out, review and adjustment of resale prices.Capture and upload of competitive data as necessaryMaintenance of vendor-supplied list prices and other pricing related data as necessaryOngoing analysis of successes and failures, and associated strategy and tactic adjustmentsAnalytical tool development leadershipLead developer of all new analytic tooling for commercial use inclusive but not limited to material master, transactional sales data, price waterfall, and price change auditing.Leader of analytics related tool changes and adjustmentsProvide analytic tool training to new analysts and design and roll out best practice improvements with the team. Resident analytics data and analytics tooling functionality and data flow expert.Data support for Supply Chain and Product Management activity (business review meetings, product lifecycle analytics, ad-hoc and one-off requests)Drive business process improvements and strategy in managing and analyzing marginContinuous improvement in communications between Pricing and other touchpoint functions / departments (Product Management / Supply Chain / etc.)Act as the back-up point person for inquiries and requests as they relate to analytical and Pricing tools and processes.Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Abilities and SkillsRequiredStrong understanding of price elasticity and value-based pricing conceptsAbility to simultaneously manage multiple and sometimes competing prioritiesStrong math and business background and financial acumenDemonstrated data manipulation and transformation skills - experience with unit of measure conversion challenges.Demonstrated problem solving skillsAdept communicator (verbal, written and listening) - storyteller with the ability to explain technical issues and fixes to non-technical audiencesCustomer service oriented - dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customersDemonstrated passion for continuous learningPreferredExperience in the wholesale distribution industry.Experience with analytical reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Qlikview)Experience with Pricing software (e.g. Vendavo, Price f(x), Pricing PROs)Working knowledge of SQL / SQL ServerWorking knowledge of SAPContinuous improvement six sigma experienceSpanish language proficiencyExperience coordinating multiple projects simultaneouslyHistoric leadership of margin-related initiatives.Educations and/or Experience A minimum of 3 or more years of experience in product portfolio / pricing analysisFour-year degree in Business, Finance or Business Analytics.
