Position Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Director of Nursing to oversee off-shift weekend and holiday supervisory responsibilities. This position involves the overall assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care on the unit, while ensuring compliance with hospital and nursing service missions, strategic planning, and clinical management. The role fosters collaboration among healthcare team members, promoting a patient-focused, caring environment while managing resources effectively.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Standard Compliance:Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all regulatory and professional care standards (e.g., CMS, IHI, CAP).Develop quality/performance improvement programs and implement new standards.Use tracer methodology tools to develop corrective action plans, ensuring continuous quality care.Operational Performance:Collaborate with staff and department directors to prepare and monitor personnel, supply, and equipment budgets.Develop long-term staffing schedules and ensure adequate daily coverage in line with staffing needs.Monitor unit operational performance metrics, including agency and overtime costs.Clinical Practice/Patient Care:Collaborate with the CNO to establish nursing care standards and evaluate staff compliance.Ensure effective provision of support services essential to patient care.Maintain a safe, caring environment conducive to positive health teaching and culturally sensitive care.Management:Participate in service planning and oversee unit-based planning processes.Utilize patient and staff satisfaction survey results to establish customer service, recruitment, and retention goals.Develop effective nursing care delivery plans for the assigned area.Human Resource Development/Management:Educate, evaluate, and provide growth opportunities for staff.Train staff in new and existing department procedures and systems.Establish unit metrics to measure the effectiveness of retention strategies.Skills:Ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbally and in writing).Strong creative problem-solving skills to enhance existing programs and services.Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.Education and Qualifications:Master's Degree in Nursing required.Current New York State RN license required.Minimum 3 years of nursing experience with previous supervisory experience.Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills required.If you are an experienced nursing leader looking to make an impact and contribute to patient-centered care, we encourage you to apply today!
