The Design Manager will work closely with the Design Director, Senior Designer, and Assistant Designer as well as the Technical Design, Product Development, Production, and Graphic teams to ensure that we are bringing the best design solutions to life for our men's activewear business. This role requires effective collaboration across all departments, as well as strong communication, creativity, and excellent organizational skills. This dynamic individual will articulate a clear point of view on product while being considerate of brand history, identity, product strategy, and overall company goals. This role will also be responsible for managing, developing, and encouraging the growth of team members in addition to leading all design processes for the brand.Responsibilities:Drive overall vision for seasonal themes based on market research and Corporate Trend DirectionHave ownership of men's design in activewear and active lifestyle categoryEffectively manage and motivate team members to influence opportunities for growth and efficienciesCollaborate with team members to select seasonal themes, make edits to the line, and create new conceptsConduct market research to identify new trends, fabrics, and techniques and seek design inspirationLead the team in developing product design ideas from conception through final garmentDevelop ideation from color, fabric, fit, trim, construction, and detailSketch design conceptsSelect fabrics and trimsCreate PLM tech packsFollow brand standards and actively evolve brand taste and qualityPresent seasonal product concepts to leadership and cross-functional teamsEnsure the product is consistent with the business strategyCommunicate with international sample room in the sample development processReview product for style and fit during fit presentationsQualifications:Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel, or related field5-10 years of related product design and development experienceProven design expertise within men's activewearKnowledge of fabrications, trims, and apparel constructionProficient in Adobe SuiteProficient in PLM preferredWorking knowledge of ExcelHigh level of integrity and strong work ethicStrong leadership capabilities and management experienceStrong organization skills and attention to detailEye for building timeless, quality essentials while also having a strong understanding of how to balance on trend fashion itemsExperience being adaptable and handling work pressures with a positive attitudeStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAnnual salary range starting at $110,000The disclosed salary range is commensurate with experience and does not reflect the total compensation package.
