Position: Contract Senior Cloud & Network Engineer - Must have finance experienceLocation: San Francisco - 12-month contractOur client is a leading global investment company who are leveraging cutting-edge technologies to transform the way businesses approach cloud infrastructure and networking. Their engineering team is passionate about driving the future of cloud and network technology, building high-performance, scalable solutions that support their global operations.Role Overview:This position will involve developing, maintaining, and optimizing cloud and on-premise network infrastructure, with a focus on AWS and Azure cloud platforms. You will play a critical role in the migration of production workloads to the cloud, network automation, and ensuring high availability and fault tolerance across their global infrastructure.Primary Responsibilities:Cloud Network Architecture & EngineeringMigration SupportTooling & AutomationNetwork Design & OptimizationCross-Functional CollaborationInfrastructure as Code (IAC):Capacity Planning & ForecastingIncident Support & On-call RotationConsulting & LeadershipRequired Skills & Experience:Strong knowledge of designing and deploying scalable, fault-tolerant networks in AWS and Azure cloud environments. Proven experience with hybrid cloud networking.Expertise in advanced networking concepts, including VPNs, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, VXLAN, and OSI model.Experience working with AWS services such as VPC, Route 53, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, and other cloud networking services.Knowledge of Linux container operations and familiarity with Kubernetes, Istio, or similar service mesh constructs.Advanced knowledge of network infrastructure, particularly with Nexus 7k, NX-OS, I2, and Virtual Port-Channel.Strong troubleshooting skills to identify, diagnose, and mitigate network-related issues.Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef, or Puppet.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.4-7+ years of experience in private network technologies, cloud networking, and network engineering.Must have VERY strong experience with BGP (in depth hands on, not just theoretical)Certifications:AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate/Professional (preferred)CCNP or higher Cisco certification (strongly preferred)AWS-specific certifications (Networking: Route53, Direct Connect, etc. / Security: WAF, Config, CloudWatch) a plus.
