Position Description:Our company is looking for a Texas-based ideal candidate to support the Fire Suppression technical training functions of the FED Learning Center.The candidates core responsibility will be to perform technical Hands-On and Virtual Live training for the FED Learning Center. The ideal candidate will have training experience, leadership skills and have a professional demeanor. This position would work with our Training Operations Manager regarding logistics of classes, help write new content (even if not an expert but can provide direction on the process and research), licensing/certification/CEUs, and other duties as deemed appropriate.Qualifications:Must have experience as a field trainer working with technicians, actual field experience is preferred.Must have the ability to teach and convey technical information in a manner that promotes learning.Must have experience with and understanding of NFPA recommendations, the varied AHJ requirements, and enforcement practices.Experience with National and State Associations is plus.Must have the ability to present information on screen in a classroom simultaneously with facilitating the hands-on practice on equipment by classroom attendees.Must demonstrate the ability to travel independently while successfully representing the company.Training disciplines to include: Kitchen Suppression Systems, Portable Fire Extinguishers and Exit and Emergency Lighting.Primary Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to:· Teach 150+ days per year in a classroom to prospective, new, and existing Fire Safety Field Technicians and FED personnel· Impart and/or refresh best practices required of a Fire Safety Field Technician to conduct work in the fire and life safety industry· Emphasize the importance of understanding and following fire and life safety standards and local codes· Emphasize the importance of attending all OEM certification/qualification classes as required and continued adherence to OEM manuals while in the field· Conduct training sessions covering industry basics with an overview on a variety of equipment· Facilitate attendees participation of working on equipment in a risk free environment· Remain current on developments in products, standards and codes· Enable attendees to solve problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks while in the field· Internal and external communication· Other duties as assigned by the General ManagerRequirements:· Ability to travel - see travel requirements below· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint)· Proficient in most Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)· Effective Communication Skills· Strong Writing Skills· Strong Organizational Skills· Demonstrate professionalism at all times as a representative of BHC companies and the FED Learning Center· Detail-Oriented· Ability to work independently and as a part of a team· Confidentiality in sensitive business information· Ability to understand business concepts, product knowledge, markets, customers, position, strategy and competitors for each BHC brand· Ability to adapt to new technology· Self-Starter· Demonstrated analytical/critical thinking skills· Bachelor's Degree preferred· 5+ years applicable work experience preferred· 2+ years of business travel preferredREQUIRED Travel:The candidate for this position must be able to adapt to a flexible schedule that, depending on location and course offerings, will involve travel.Expected travel is around 50%. Training days are typically from 8-5pm. Overnight assignments are expected.Most travel is by plane and usually Monday - Friday with occasional weekends.
