Lab Infrastructure Services Engineer

About the RoleThe lab infrastructure services engineer is responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of the Custom Compute and Solutions (CCS) product labs.The person in this contract position is expected to have a deep understanding of data center management.Perform various tasks on different projects of CCS Engineering labs.QualificationsProven experience as a systems or network administrator in a R&D or IT environment.Required Skills3-5 years of technical experience, in a large-scale data center or IT infrastructure environment.Manage and maintain the lab infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment and HW components.Commitment to Quality.Great communication skills with accountability to internal customers and Labs.Experience with standard lab equipment (e.g., Racks, test bed benches, switches, and power supplies).In-depth knowledge of System/OS level TCP/IP Networking is a must.Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work inside a data center environment.Must be able to rack-mount servers and connect required cabling.Must be able to work extended hours inside a data center environment.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as oral and written skills.Preferred SkillsFamiliar with the installation, operation, repair and troubleshooting of data center infrastructure, including LAN TCP/IP knowledge related to problem research.Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Proactive to identify and come up with solutions to lab needs.High level of flexibility.
