Digital Communications Manager for the Office of Military and Veterans' Services at Fordham UniversityAre you committed to helping veterans have the very best possible higher education experience? Mission StatementTransforming the educational journeys of military-affiliated students to further their lives of commitment and serviceWho we NeedVVC seeks a communications lead to tell the story and promote the Office of Military and Veterans' Services (OMVS) at Fordham University. In this role, you will:Develop and execute content marketing strategies, including planning, creation, and distribution of relevant, engaging content to attract and retain military-affiliated student target audienceCreate and maintain a public website (microsite) Maintain an SEO-focused blog feed that helps drive organic reachCreate and maintain energetic digital community spaces on social media like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn based on social media marketing best practices and engagement strategyPromote, repurpose and measure all content marketing effortsSecure necessary subscriptions to media tools and cloud-based applications to provide the services outlined aboveCreate and optimize content assets (e.g., articles, videos, infographics) and manage their promotion across multiple platforms, ensuring alignment with marketing objectives and measuring performance to make data-driven adjustmentsWork in collaboration with the marketing manager to support communications effortsProduce creative assets for, host, and coordinate on-campus and digital events Host informative webinars & information sessions to support marketing, enrollment, and student success efforts Write, edit, and publish a monthly military student newsletterWork with contracted partners to publish an Annual Report Collaborate with team members within OMVS and with staff/faculty at Fordham University across all functions to ensure a seamless approach to supporting studentsLeverage analytics and assess the latest trends to enhance & develop the growth of the student veteran community with an approach anchored in continuous improvement & innovationReport systematically on your work and its resultsReport to the Director of Military & Veteran Higher Education Engagement & Transition at Fordham UniversityRequirementsSignificant experience as a communications manager, content marketer, digital community manager, and/or social media managerDemonstrated creativity and editorial expertise Ability to prepare and execute a strategy as part of a distributed teamExperience leveraging major social network platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and video-dominant platforms Mission-minded commitment to veterans and their familiesDemonstrated strength in writing and comfort with public speakingAbility to interpret website traffic and social media engagement metrics and utilize findings to drive ongoing improvementsAbility to work in the U.S.Flexibility to work some evenings when classes are in sessionPreferred Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesPrior military service and/or demonstrated service to the military community in a communications capacity Experience working within a university context, in particular, familiarity with Fordham University and its associated collegesBachelor's degree in communications and/or marketing or relevant work experienceFamiliarity with Slack, Microsoft Teams and/or similar communication and scheduling platformsFamiliarity with content management systems like WordPress and Squarespace LocationHybrid: in person & remote-workSome travel to military installations and other military-connected locations in the surrounding regional area is likely Salary$105,000 - $115,00Why join VVC?VVC is a thriving organization, purpose-built to serve veterans and their family members who are attending universities and making a transition to civilian employmentWork alongside dedicated, talented team members who want you to succeedCompetitive pay and benefitsOther important Details While employed by VVC, this position reports directly to the Director of Military & Veteran Higher Education Engagement & Transition at Fordham UniversityVVC is a proud member of the Department of Defense's Military Spouse Employment Partnership and a participant in the Hiring Our Heroes #DiscoverTheTalent initiative, which supports military spouse employmentVVC is a distributed organization with team members as far away as New ZealandVVC is an equal-opportunity employer
