Aya Healthcare has an exciting 26 weeks contract opportunity located in Fort Lauderdale, FL!Job Details:JOB TITLE: Biomedical Engineer TechnicianCONTRACT DURATION: 26 weeksSHIFT: M-F 8-5pmLOCATION: Fort Lauderdale, FL (might need to drive to multiple sites)ONBOARDING TIME: Expect 2-3 weeks from offer acceptance to start date.PAY: $28-31hrDETAILS ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Biomedical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical equipment and devices. The role ensures that all healthcare equipment operates efficiently and meets safety and regulatory standards to support patient care.Key Responsibilities:Equipment Maintenance and Repairo Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on medical equipment.o Diagnose and repair malfunctioning medical devices.o Ensure equipment calibration meets manufacturers' and regulatory standards.Equipment Installation and Testingo Install and configure new biomedical equipment.o Conduct performance and safety tests before equipment is placed into service.Safety and Complianceo Ensure compliance with healthcare safety standards (e.g., FDA, OSHA, TJC).o Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.o Assist in equipment risk assessment and hazard management.Technical Supporto Provide technical assistance to healthcare staff regarding the operation of medical devices.o Troubleshoot user issues and educate end-users on proper equipment use.Inventory and Asset Managemento Track inventory of biomedical devices and parts.o Assist in procurement and disposal of medical equipment.Collaborationo Work with vendors and manufacturers for technical support and warranty repairs.o Coordinate with clinical staff to minimize disruptions during maintenance.Qualifications• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.• Certifications (Preferred):o Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or equivalent.o Relevant OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) certifications.• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance or a related field.Skillso Strong technical and problem-solving skills.o Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software.o Knowledge of safety standards and medical regulations.o Excellent communication and organizational skills.The technician will be be stationed at one facility, but if the technician is needed at another site, they would have to drive between sites.APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS · Documentation of Covid vaccination or medical/religious exemption.· Copy of diploma for highest level of completed education.· Two manager/supervisor references who you have worked with in the last two years.o (Name, Position Held, Company, Phone Number, Email Address)· Upcoming requested time off for the duration of the contract.· Interview availability for the next 7-10 days.· Resume with last seven years of work history if applicable - all work history gaps of 90+ days must be explained.AYA DELIVERS...· Front-of-the-line access to exclusive jobs at thousands of healthcare facilities nationwide.· A robust team to support you every step of the way to ensure you start on time, have accurate payroll and an exceptional experience.· A credentialing specialist to streamline the entire compliance process.· And of course, you get the usual benefits such as:o Premium medical, dental, vision and life insurance beginning day one of your assignment.o Pay listed above includes taxable wages and tax-free expense reimbursements, when applicable.Aya Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages all to apply!
