Carpenter Brothers, Inc. is a dealer / distributor / representative for manufacturers of industrial supplies and equipment. Though foundry supplies and equipment have been and still make up the majority of products and sales, diversification has added products and services for the die casting, environmental, blast cleaning and surface finishing industries. Consumable products include metals and ferro-alloys such as Molybdenum, Silicon, Chromium, Manganese, Carbon, Aluminum, Inoculants and other specialty products. Also, included are sand additives, pre-blends, olivine, zircon and other specialty sands, chemical binders, refractory coatings, ceramic filters, and many more. Our equipment line includes sand preparation equipment including sand heaters and coolers, continuous mixers, and mullers. Also included are electronic sand laboratory equipment, thermal analysis instrumentation, automated core and molding machines, shake-out and material handling systems, sand reclaimers, robotics and complete turnkey foundry systems. Molten metal melting furnaces and transporting ladles are also represented.Position Title: Technical Sales RepresentativeDepartment Name: Outside SalesSupervisor's Title: Regional Sales ManagerLocation: WisconsinPrimary Purpose and Functions:Manage the Sales activities at all current and prospective accounts in their areas, grow existing sales with new products and new customers, and self-educate on all foundry processes and new technology as it becomes available. Learn and understand the company culture to promote a good working environment with coworkers, customers, and suppliers.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:· Sell Carpenter Brothers Inc.'s current product offerings to current customers.· Understand quoting and price increase processes, profitability at one's customer base, and freight relating to each customer.· Report significant gain and loss of business that affects CBI and JCE as a whole.· Find and sell new products per customers' request.· Maintain a broad prospective perspective of one's own territory. Know which metal casters, metal fabricators, heat treaters and environmental companies are in the area.· Educate oneself to existing products and use in metal casting, abrasive blasting and environmental areas, and diversification areas.· Realize personal goals to hone sales skills and general sales techniques.· Monitor slow-moving stock for both CBI and JCE, adjusting warehouse levels according to customer activity or non-activity.· Participate in trade organizations where customers will be in attendance (such as local meetings and conventions for all industries with whom CBI and JCE work).· Spend time developing new customers and new industries. Know how to set up a new customer with credit, and work through the first orders with Customer Service and Accounting.· Input summary notes timely manner of important phone calls customer visits. Managers use this to satisfy supplier need for activity throughout CBI/JCE territories.Knowledge and Skills:· Word and Excel programs· Manage communication retaining emails as necessary· 5 years of sales experience· Excel in technical area of foundry products or equipment-Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline preferred or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical manufacturing or sales role.NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
