The Product Lead is responsible for providing technical vision for the product and leading the technical process for the team to execute the project. The Product Lead works with Project Lead to ensure we create valuable ventures, products and services by balancing quality, time, and budget.The Associate Director of Product and Systems "Product and Systems Manager" works with the Business Unit Director to ensure the Business Unit and project teams have the technical capabilities and resources required to execute planned product development projects.Product Leadership - Work with the Business Unit Director and Client to challenge the brief and identify valuable problems / solutions. Lead technical resources (Designers, Engineers and other specialties) to complete activities (value proposition design, concepting, detailed design, V/V) that create valuable new ventures, products and services.Prospecting & Proposal Building - In concert with the Business Unit Director, work to engage potential client prospects by sharing IDE capabilities, scoping potential programs, and providing technical competency in face-to-face strategy and risk planning discussions.Project Planning - Work with the Project Lead to define solutions that are desirable / feasible / viable in the context of the venture. Assist the project lead in planning and estimating the project by giving input to the required activities and resources to achieve the project aim.Technical Execution Select or modify the most appropriate processes and methods to apply in Product Development activities. Defines the appropriate level of quality for PD Outputs and Outcomes to ensure it is achieved.Risk Management -Identify and manage Product Risks appropriately, with effective controls implemented. Provide input to the Project Lead to identify and manage project risk.Review and Approvals Ensure effective Technical Reviews for PD activities are conducted as planned. Co-ordinate and conduct effective System Level Design Reviews.Facilities Planning & Support - Work with the Business Unit Director to maintain facility in alignment with the quality system as well as execute equipment upkeep and investment for future expansion in alignment with client needs.Mentor & Coach - Provide mentorship and guidance from your experience to expand and develop our aspiring junior team members.Skills and Experience A degree in Engineering or other appropriate technical discipline.Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in an R&D environment.Experience in the medical device and healthcare industry8+ Years of product development and engineering experienceConsulting experience is preferredExperience in applying a sound engineering methodology (systems approach), and an ability to communicate intent, approach and value to others.Experience in estimating development effort for the purpose of project planning and making commitments to stakeholders.Experience and knowledge across the entirety of product development and commercialization lifecycleExperience working in compliance with Quality Management Systems (ISO9001, ISO13485, GMP or similar) in regulated industry (Medical Device preferred).Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (incl.
