Summary/Responsibilities:The Systems Engineer serves as the primary technical lead, overseeing the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of both existing and future infrastructure. This role includes providing training and mentorship to junior staff and handling escalated support cases. The Systems Engineer reports directly to the Head of the IT Department.Required Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant work experienceWindows System Administration: 3-5 YearsVMWare Administration: 3-5 YearsNetwork/Firewall Management: 1-2 yearsFamiliar with a terminal and at least one scripting language (PowerShell, Python, Bash, ect..)Previous Experience in a customer facing role like Help DeskResponsibilities:Maintain and manage systems infrastructure, including servers and core services.Administer and support collaboration and productivity platforms.Configure, maintain, and monitor networking infrastructure, including hardware and connectivity.Plan, design, and implement system engineering projects aligned with organizational goals.Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across systems, networks, and security.Document activities, create reports, and maintain operational guidelines.Enhance processes, procedures, and policies to improve performance and reliability.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to plan, upgrade, and secure IT solutions.Provide technical leadership, train team members, and offer post-project support.Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.Participate in on-call rotations and support operations outside standard hours as needed.Ensure compliance with organizational policies, standards, and cybersecurity initiatives.Technical Skills:Experience managing VMWare environmentsExperience with hybrid AD/Entra ID environments.Experience with e-mail hygiene systems.Experience with Microsoft SCCM, patch management, software deployment, software updates, desktop image deployment, and updates.Working knowledge of backupsWorking knowledge of networking, and networking protocolsSoft Skills:Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication.Effective in team settings and able to work independently.Skilled in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.Capable of taking initiative and driving projects to completion.Accurate, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure.Strong judgment with the ability to make recommendations to leadership.Quick learner with technical aptitude and adaptability.Proficient in identifying and resolving issues efficiently.Desire to continually learn and grow.Meade Benefits: We are proud to provide a competitive compensation package for this role, with a base pay ranging from $98,000 to $132,000. Actual compensation will depend on several factors, such as location, professional experience, education, relevant training, transferable skills, organizational needs, and current market trends.
