Beef Production Manager

Belgian Acres is a family farm located in Eastern Iowa. Our operation consists of 1250 acres of row crops, 200 cow-calf pairs (spring and fall), and a 750+/- head beef finishing operation. We utilize many modern production techniques and technologies in the pursuit of excellence, sustainability, and efficiency.We are looking for someone who will perform daily operational tasks, supervise seasonal labor, assist with goal development and strategy implementation, and assemble and analyze records to show productivity and profit/loss of business units.Summary:Follow all Safety rules, BQA standards, DNR regulations, and good animal husbandry practicesPerform daily tasks as assigned, work cooperatively with team members to meet daily, weekly, and seasonal goalsWork overtime and weekends as requiredPrimary Responsibilities:Implement health protocols to maintain healthy and productive animalsEnsure that nutritional requirements are met for all animalsMaintain proper records for use in meeting regulatory requirements, measuring farm performance, and conducting financial analysisPerform routine maintenance on critical equipment, facilities, and propertyParticipate in development of goals and strategies to pursue efficiency, sustainability, stewardship, and communityParticipate is seasonal activities for row crop productionLead part-time and seasonal staff Minimum Qualifications:Ability to work outdoors in all seasons, work independently and demonstrate problem solving skillsStrong communication skills for discussions with team members, vendors, neighbors, and landlords as needed.Comfortable using technology in daily operations such as tablet applications and automated farming systemsPossess or have the ability to obtain Commercial Driver's LicenseHave a love of farming!Contact InformationKendall Claeys, Manager1717 215th AveDelmar, IA 52037Kendall.claeys@563-340-9127
