Job Overview:The Employee Benefits Account Manager is responsible for managing and servicing insurance policies for our small group employee benefits clients. This position acts as the primary point of contact for clients, providing guidance on compliance, managing renewals, and offering tailored solutions to meet clients' needs.Key Responsibilities:Client Account Management: Oversee a portfolio of primarily small group fully insured clients.Client Support & Relationship Building: Serve as the main liaison between clients and insurance carriers, delivering proactive, personalized service.Compliance Expertise: Advise clients on compliance matters, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500 filings, Health Care Reform, and other related regulations.Client Presentations & Meetings: Prepare materials for client meetings and provide ongoing education and strategic advice regarding benefit plans.New Business Setup: Facilitate the setup of new insurance contracts for both new and existing clients.Renewal Process Management: Lead the renewal process, including preparing necessary contract updates and coordinating with carriers to ensure smooth transitions and employee plan changes Carrier Selection & Recommendations: Analyze quotes and coverage options from various carriers to recommend the best fit for clients' needs.Cross-Selling & Account Growth: Identify opportunities to expand services within existing client accounts and drive cross-selling initiatives.Client Meetings & Presentations: Conduct both virtual and in-person meetings with clients to review plans, discuss renewals, and address any questions or concerns.Employee Communication Development: Create clear and effective communications to inform employees about benefit changes, renewal details, enrollment instructions, and other relevant updates.Onsite & Virtual Open Enrollment Meetings Issue Resolution: Address and resolve client issues related to billing, contract terms, or plan coverage with a focus on maintaining positive client relationships.Qualifications & Skills:4+ years of experience in the employee benefits industry or a related field. A college degree is preferred.Strong customer service and relationship management experience.Willingness to obtain or currently hold a CA Life and Health Insurance license.Proficient in using Google Suite / Ease / Employee Navigator / Agency Bloc Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex tasks with both concrete and abstract variables.Bilingual (Spanish) Plus
