Job Title: Analyst / Associate - Los AngelesAbacus Capital Group is seeking an Analyst / Associate to join our Los Angeles office. The role will entail supporting the acquisitions team in the identification and analysis of value add, core, and development investment opportunities in the Western United States.Abacus is a research-driven firm, which invests in multifamily assets throughout the United States on behalf of institutional investors through fully discretionary commingled funds and separate accounts. Since it's inception in 2004, Abacus has invested in over $8.2B of multifamily projects and has a current AUM of $5.0B. Major responsibilities include:•Financial Analysis: Assist in the financial analysis and underwriting of potential acquisition and development opportunities. The ability to develop and maintain financial models in excel is required. •Market Research: Provide research support utilizing online, internal and external resources. Gather market research and stay current on industry trends. Tour properties, submarkets and the competitive set to determine market positioning and health. •Pipeline Management: Assist in the management and upkeep of the acquisition pipeline in target markets.•Transaction Execution: Prepare investment memoranda for recommended acquisition opportunities. Assist in transaction due diligence by collecting, reviewing, and summarizing property reports, leases, and other documents. Assist with transaction closings.•Maintain existing and establish new relationships with brokers, owners, operators, attorneys and company connections in target markets.•Participate in purchase & sale contract negotiations and structure of new acquisition financings through both agency and bank debt channels. Desired Skills & Experience:•Excellent academic track record from a top tier university•0-4 years of work experience. Prior experience in real estate, financial analysis, or asset/portfolio management roles is preferred•Advanced Excel & Microsoft Office capabilities•Ability to synthesize large data sets and market information•Excellent written and oral communication skills•Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail•Candidate should be proactive and self-motivated exhibiting strong work ethic, integrity and commitment•Must be willing to work within an entrepreneurial environment and multitask•Ability to work effectively in a cohesive team environment•Willingness to travel For more information about Abacus, please see our website at Please ContactBrian Chongbchong@
