The General Manager is a new position due to extreme growth for a privately-owned business in the distribution and residential building supply industry. Submit your resume today to get the discussion started!As a General Manager (GM), reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of all branches in your region to ensure the region is meeting its financial and operational goals while working with Executive Leadership to develop and implement future strategy for business success.Essential Functions:Direct regional operations by working closely with regional managers regarding overall workforce, including managing staffing, scheduling, and training.Engage with Executive Leadership to develop, define, and drive organizational success by implementing organization goals within the region and by supporting leaders of other regions.Develop regional goals and strategies aligned to the company's strategic plans to improve and grow the business.Collaborate with Executive Leadership to develop and lead plans that grow sales and profits in alignment with regional objectives.Monitor and manage financial performance of the region by overseeing the development, implementation, and execution of the regional budget.Establish and develop relationships with external business partners, customers, internal employees and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment with company goals.Reports all key workings of the region to upper management and organization leadership.Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations related to employees, operations, fleet, and any other areas of responsibility within the region.Resolve conflicts within the region to help ensure it runs as one cohesive group.Leads continuous improvement efforts to evaluate and improve productivity by using tools such as lean and six sigma.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt communication styles throughout the organization by using various tools effectively. Commitment to ongoing professional and technical development by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societies that relate to the core business.Required Education & Experience:MBA, preferredUndergraduate degree in business or related field.10+ years' experience in distribution, supply chain, or operationsAdditional Eligibility Requirements:Proven experience as a manager or similar leadership role in a related industryExperience in planning and budgetingStrong understanding of business process and functionsDemonstrable competency in strategic planning and business developmentExperience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A), a plusKnowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metricsFamiliarity with MS Office and various business software (e.g. ERP, CRM)Outstanding organizational and leadership skillsExcellent interpersonal and public speaking skillsAptitude in decision-making and problem solvingWork Environment & Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision requirements due to computer work.Light to moderate lifting may be required.Ability to sit at a computer for an extended period of time.Moderate noise
