As a subject matter expert, you will also provide quality checking, coaching, and support for teammates, helping them to develop and grow while helping the team leader to ensure high-quality output from the team.ResponsibilitiesConduct investigative review and analysis in support of company's BSA/AML regulatory compliance policies and program, including investigating automated alerts from our transaction monitoring systems and referrals sourced from law enforcement requests and other company lines of businessAnalyze transaction activity and KYC information and conduct due diligence research in support of investigations, as well as interpret evidence from external tools and systems to determine the legitimacy of customer behavior across multiple productsDocument investigations in written narrativesDecide whether activity warrants escalation for additional review and subsequently recommend whether activity appears suspicious and warrants filing of a suspicious activity reportIncorporate feedback from Quality Assurance TeamMaintain detailed documentation to demonstrate compliance with regulations and internal policies and procedures Remain current with industry standards and developments in the areas of KYC, BSA/AML, and OFAC, and apply regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures to case investigationReview data from systems and follow procedures to investigate, decide, and document transaction monitoring alertsConduct investigative review and analysis in support of company's BSA/AML regulatory compliance policies and program, including investigating automated alerts from our transaction monitoring systems and referrals sourced from law enforcement requests and other company lines of businessAnalyse customer and transaction information to assess whether the alerted activity is or is not normal in the context of what is known about the customer and who they are transacting with, conducting additional background research as appropriate. Understand underlying ultimate originators and beneficiaries, their business/profile, geographies, and business sense of the transactions and relationships Document your investigations thoroughly by recording the details of the alert, the data you have considered, the basis of your conclusion, and any evidence you have gathered that supports your conclusionConsult and collaborate with colleagues to develop your own investigations and to help others with theirs, adopting and sharing best practices, techniques, and knowledge over time, with a focus on driving continuous improvement in both your own investigations and that of the broader teamQualifications we seek in youMinimum Qualifications / Skills2+ years of compliance experience (transaction monitoring, fraud or AML, investigations, SAR writing)Problem-solving and decision-makingB.A./B.S. degree or equivalentKnowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines (e.g. BSA, OFAC, FinCEN guidance)Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication (verbal and written) skillsExperience working with Google Sheet, Google Docs, Excel, and WordFlexible and adaptable to the evolving needs of a high-growth and fast-paced organizational environmentOrganized with a High level of attention to detailDeveloped understanding of the global financial system and banking as well as the regulatory environment and the impacts of non-compliance. Fluent in English, reading, and writing. Knowledge of banks, crypto exchanges, transaction types/flows, and financial crime risks. Professional certification for Correspondent Banking (CAMS, ICA, or equivalent) is a plusMinimumQualificationsRelevant work experience with experience in correspondent banking TM investigations, dealing with major financial institutions, PSPs, and other payment providers, etc., preferably in reputable financial services organizations. Expert understanding of how money laundering, terrorist financing, and tax evasion are executed, why, the differences between them, and their impacts"”especially in the context of correspondent banking and PSPs. L1/L2: 3+ years of compliance experienceAnti-Money Laundering Specialist CertificationSpecific experience with cryptocurrency products as a user and / or experience working in the digital currency industryAbility to conduct detailed investigations using Contractors and open sources to remediate compliance alerts and to independently research, analyze, and recommend solutions to close open items and discrepancies Experience in using various risk case management systemsExperience processing financial crime risk management typologies as related to brokerage and virtual currency exchanges"The approximate annual base compensation range for this position is $65,000 to $70,000.
