Principal Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure

Our team, boasting alumni from Google Research, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, and Berkeley, is on a mission to develop specialized, efficient LLMs. If you're passionate about groundbreaking technology and solving AI's hardest problems, we want you on our team!Fastino is backed by leading investors including Microsoft, Insight Partners, NEA, CRV, Valor, Github CEO Thomas Dohmke, and others.Key Responsibilities:Work directly with Fastino founders and engineering and research leaders to assess optimal cloud solutionsArchitect and manage cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, Azure, and GCP leveraging services like EC2, S3, Sagemaker, Vertex, and moreEnsure efficient data storage, processing, and security policiesIdentify, analyze, and fix weak points in cloud infrastructure and deployment issuesLeverage infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible to automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment of infrastructure resourcesBuild robust backend services and APIs using Python (Django, Flask, or FastAPI) to power infrastructure operations and integrationsDesign and implement efficient CI/CD pipelines using tools like Gitlab CI/CD to streamline software delivery and infrastructure provisioningFocus on design and implementation of software defined networks, cloud landing zones and VPCs, cloud security, application and network firewalls, as well as ingress and egress control for security and complianceRequirements:Bachelors/Masters degree in computer science, engineering, IT, mathematics, or relevant field5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, and/or backend developmentExperience with cloud native applications and microservice architectureHands-on experience with IaC (Terraform, Cloudformation) and platform control planes (Kubernetes API and Operators)Experience building and operating large scale automated cloud services in multiple AZs and regions in AWS or other public cloudsHands-on experience building internal and edge network infrastructure in cloud environments, at Layer 3, 4 and 7, DNS, BGP, TGW, VPC Peering, ALB, VPN etc.Hands-on experience building and managing systems with Container Orchestration platforms like ECS or Kubernetes, as well as service mesh (Istio, Envoy, etc.)Experience with edge/CDN networking products (Cloudflare, Cloudfront, Fastly, etc.)A proven ability to influence technical decision-making and execution within an organizationWhy Join Us?Supportive Environment: Benefit from the resources of Microsoft and venture funding, collaborating with top-tier talent from renowned universities.Impactful Work: Your contributions will directly shape the future of AI applications, making technology more accessible, eco-friendly and dev friendly!Competitive Benefits: Receive competitive salary, stock options, health benefits, and more.
