Personal Care Assistant

We are looking to hire a Personal Care AssistantShift9:00a-4:30p, with a 30 minute unpaid lunch. 7.5hour day, paid for 7 hours per day.1 In-Person Interview to Offer - Will last about 15 minutesJob Description:Working 1 on 1 with students providing behavior and academic support and assist in implementing an effective educational programs for the students assigned by their case manager. Assist in providing instruction and meeting special needs which includes feeding, toileting, positioning, and monitoring health conditions of students with disabilities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS MAY INCLUDE:Provide instruction as directed by teacher to individuals in avariety of areas including cognitive, gross and fine motor skills, feeding skills,self help skills and behavior control.Assist teacher in maintaining health and safety of physically handicappedstudents by being aware of environment and the potential hazards of eachchild's actions.Assist students with personal hygiene, including washing hands and faces,toileting, and changing diapers and clothing as needed.Monitor and control student behavior in accordance with established guidelines.Assist other specialists with physical development activities.Prepare students for mainstreamed classes according to establishedprocedures.Attend periodic and special training and in-services related to medicalinterventions and instructional program as required.Assist students with braces and other orthopedic equipment to lift, position, andreposition students as needed.Assist teacher in maintaining a variety of records related to student progress . Implement positive behavior intervention support policies.Collaborate with case workers, general education teachers, and other staff asneeded.Assist students in social interactions. Work cooperatively with others and independently as needed.Perform other duties similar to the above in scope and function as required.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or equivalent.Must have experience with children,students, or general caregiving of any age.Preferred: experience with Autistic Support, Special Education, or Behavioral Health/Mental HealthFirst Aid Certificate including CPR(just needs to obtain before start date)Credentialing Requirements(All within 12 months):-PA Child Abuse Clearance-PA Criminal Clearance-PA FBI Fingerprint-TB Test Results-Diploma or Transcripts of highest Education
