Sr Tournament Operations Manager

The Disney Lorcana TCG team is growing! After an enormously successful launch year, the Play & Events team is looking for an experienced Sr Tournament Operations Manager. In this role, you'll design and manage the global tournament ecosystem for the Disney Lorcana TCG, reaching from store-level play through the highest levels of premier play. You'll craft and execute tournament systems for every type of player, ensuring the highest levels of fairness, fun, and competition. The Play & Events team is highly collaborative and works to deliver outstanding play experiences by closely partnering with each other, the expanded Disney Lorcana teams in Seattle and across the world, and with core hobby game stores and professional event organizers. What You'll Do Design the tournament systems for Disney Lorcana play programs, owning the premier play ecosystem (Challenges, Worlds) and collaborating on store play programs (launch events, weekly play programs, store championships) Manage the Disney Lorcana Tournament Rules and Play Correction Guidelines Clearly and timely communicate play programs, tournament rules, and event operations to internal stakeholders, regional teams, tournament organizer partners, and players Manage premier event competitor communications, customer service, and prize fulfillment Provide on-site and on-call tournament support for operational execution, including on the weekends events are scheduled Create and deliver reports and presentations that clearly communicate program strategy, execution plans, and analysis of results and impact Represent tournament and player needs to the digital teams executing tournament software and digital tools Educate, train, and coach tournament staff on general tournament operations best practices and Disney Lorcana specific tournament rules and operations Collaborate with coverage and communications teams to ensure smooth flow of tournament information including participant numbers, round progression, player standings, deck lists, player profiles, etc Manage dispute resolution, investigations, and disciplinary actions to resolve conflict and uphold the integrity of competitions Research and synthesize trends in the competitive gaming space and be the expert our competitors Travel is expected from 10-25%, including international travel What You'll Bring 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and managing tournament operations for global competitive gaming events including tournaments with thousands of players and with multi-tiered qualification systems, preferably in the TCG space Experience working with coverage teams and familiarity with best practices of competitive gaming coverage as they relate to tournament design and operations Able to generate and present reports on program results and industry trends Experience working internationally with colleagues, partners, and players highly preferred Passion for TCGs and an affinity for Disney Existing Disney Lorcana TCG knowledge or an eagerness to deeply learn Proven success in leading through influence and mutual trust Strong collaborator who is comfortable having vigorous and positive debate, works to find win-win solutions, and ultimately pulls teams together with an inspiring vision and timely and clear communication Test-and-learn innovator who combines best practices, data, insights, and intuition Naturally curious, seeks to learn from others, and listens to understand
