ZARA will put you into the heart of the action and the heart of its growth.HEALTH AND SAFETY SPECIALISTBased in our NYC Corporate Office (not remote)The Health and Safety Specialist with support health and safety initiatives across companies of the INDITEX Group operating in the United States and Puerto Rico. This role involves evaluating workplace safety risks, conducting inspections, providing training, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations. The ideal candidate is proactive and detail oriented, with strong communications skills and has experience working in safety within the retail or similar industries.Responsibilities:Carry out risk assessments or supervise and validate the identification and evaluation work carried out by a third-party prevention service in charge of them. Integrate the actions derived from these evaluations in the management system in general and in preventive planning. Verify and when necessary, propose in accordance with current legislation, preventive health and safety measures corresponding to risk situations and identified non-conformities.Support to achieve ISO 45001 certification.Control and monitoring of training and information for workers.Supervise, validate and correct the content of incidents / accidents investigations communicated by managers / store managers / department managers. Issue corresponding reports and propose associated corrective and preventive measures to avoid future reoccurrences of the identified riskCarry out investigations of incidents / accidents suffered by the workers, in their scope of application and assign those responsible for executing corrective measures.Organize and coordinate trainings in H&S.Monitor and supervise the systems for the reporting and investigation of accidents, check list and mandatory courses, in accordance with the legislation in H&S.Control of the internal application for external suppliers in H&S.Issue memos and consultations that are necessary in terms of health and safety, in accordance with current legislation and for the purposes of guaranteeing the effectiveness of the internal occupational health and safety management system.Provide assistance to HR teams at Health and Safety Committee meetings when necessary.Personal Profile:2+ years of proven experience in similar position, preferably in the retail industry or multi-location environment.Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Business, or similar field is required.Thorough knowledge of health and safety laws and guidelines.Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.Extensive attention to detail to distinguish safety hazards.Ability to research and interpret H&S legislation and OSHA standards.Very strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Power BI is preferrable.Self-motivated and able to take responsibility for their own actions.Strong time management and organizational skills.Quick learner, able to work under pressure in a high-pace environmentAbility to take a proactive approach to resolving issues.Strong initiative an ability to multitask.Able to travel when needed.Fluent in English (Spanish will be a plus)Annual compensation range: $65,000 - $103,000 + discretionary annual bonusZara, in good faith, believes that this posted rate of compensation is the accurate range for this role at this location at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
