VP, HR is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and strategic business partner to the President/COO of TMC, the CEO of TAH, and senior leadership across the TMC/TAH organization, focused on an innovative and integrated people strategy that supports the long-term vision and mission of the company with an emphasis on creating a best-in-class organization. VP, HR is responsible for developing and implementing the Human Resources strategic plan, that ensures we have the right talent, systems, and infrastructure in place, establishes accountability, and identifies solutions to resolve problems, while fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace that enables all associates to contribute to the organization at their full potential. In addition, VP, HR will be a contributing member of the global HR Leadership team, collaborating with the Chief Human Resources Officer (based in Japan) and the Global HR team, and will build and foster effective HR partnerships across the US and with other global Terumo entities in an effort to identify and develop synergies and efficiencies that will strengthen Terumo as a global Med-Tech leader.Job Details:The VP HR needs to think both strategically and act tactically on a local level to ensure that the organization is capable of supporting business objectives.Lead, develop and strengthen a high performing, sustainable HR organization to best support the overall TMC and TAH organizations. Evaluate, implement and assess company-wide programs, systems, policies and procedures that impact our ability to attract, engage, develop and retain associates with the goal of establishing the organization as an employer of choice. This will include, amongst others, recruitment, compensation, recognition, performance management, etc.Build strong partnerships with executive leadership, cross functional leaders, associates, and the Global HR leadership team to ensure informed and efficient solutions based on best practice, data, and an understanding of the business.Drive operational planning (near term) and strategic workforce planning (long-term), inclusive of a robust succession plan for the senior leadership team and key roles throughout the organization. Drive initiatives to address critical talent gaps.Champion, promote, and guide the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategies, and associated initiatives/practices in alignment and support of TMC's business objectives. Foster an inclusive culture focused on mitigating unconscious biases, role modeling self-awareness and openness, and coaching leaders accordingly.Drive initiatives to improve organizational health and effectiveness. Provide overall stewardship related to the maintenance of a healthy, productive, and rewarding culture.Accountable for the advancement and implementation of workforce development and succession strategies that enable the business to identify talent from within and outside the organization and to develop existing talent so that all associates can meet their maximum potential.Accountable for the development of progressive and proactive compensation (inclusive of base pay, annual incentive plan, commission plans and LTIP) and benefits programs to assist in the retention of talent, and to provide motivation, recognition, and rewards for effective performance.Develop and monitor long range HR Information Systems (HRIS) strategic plan, including reporting meaningful data, metrics and analytics for management use across the organization. Ensure existing HRIS tools are fully integrated to provide maximum functionality and utilization. Responsible for overall HR compliance and addressing risk management issues.Manage and direct the application and interpretation of Human Resource policies throughout the organization. Actively contribute as a member of the TMC Senior Staff Team and proactively support value creation initiatives across functional disciplines.Collaborate with the Global CHRO Office and Global HR Steering Committees to develop long term HR strategies that support the business globally. Manage the budget of the department in a cost-efficient manner to meet the goals established and agreed upon with the leadership team.Maintain in depth knowledge of all HR policies, programs, laws, and regulations. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Candidate Requirements:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Accomplished leader in developing large teams and mentoring others, as well as successfully developing diverse, high-performance teams in highly matrixed environments.Demonstrated knowledge of organizational design, change management, succession management, workforce planning, employee relations methodologies and processes. Demonstrated ability to manage program and project management to accomplish goals, objectives, timelines, and milestones. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and vision in a regional and global environment in a collaborative manner.Effective listener with superior critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and leadership skills. Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.High commitment to quality and integrity.Background ExperienceBachelor's Degree and a minimum of 15 years of progressive, collaborative Human Resource leadership experience, with a minimum of 10 years in a management capacity required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree a plus.Must have experience successfully providing vision and leadership in a global environment.Thorough knowledge of applicable employment and labor laws at the Federal and State level.Knowledge of Human Resource administration and management, computerized functions as well as excellent knowledge and application of communications and interpersonal skills. Strong ability to communicate and oversee policy, projects and administration where effecting change is a major issue. Requires demonstrated effective change management skills, conflict resolution skills and the ability to promote, motivate and effect positive changes for the total organization.
