Director of MembershipAs the Director of Membership, you will spearhead the launch and growth of Boardroom's new membership business unit, driving its success as a cornerstone of the brand. This role requires a visionary leader to develop the overall strategic direction of the Membership Club, drive membership growth, oversee a small working team, design and drive the application and approval process, and maintain strong relationships with current members and strategic partners to ensure continued engagement and satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with the management team to uphold the exclusive and value-driven brand image of Boardroom.Key ResponsibilitiesFoundation & OperationsBuild an effective and cohesive Membership Department for an elite private clubDevelop an innovative and effective recruiting strategy and application processLeverage personal network to recruit members and strategic partners Work with the executive team to build a robust membership experience that includes programming, networking, perks, and beyond Oversee internal systems including the digital application process and membership portalManage membership P&L, reporting to the CFO and executive teamMembership Application & Approval ProcessManage the membership application process, ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately and promptlyCollaborate with the membership committee to present and review membership applications for approvalEnsure year 1 members are diversified with various backgrounds to ensure a high-quality and engaged membership baseMaintain strict confidentiality and discretion of sensitive membership information.Member RelationsBuild and maintain relationships with members, partners, and all external constituenciesBuild and implement member ongoing communication strategyWork closely with the events director on exclusive member programming and overall member experienceImplement retention strategies to ensure members renew their memberships on timeMonitor member feedback to gather insights for continuous improvementQualificationsExtensive membership experience (10+ years); new club opening experience is a plusExperience creating and overseeing budgets Experience managing and building teamsA data-driven approach to membership with the ability to interpret and strategize based on performance metricsExpertise in selling, marketing, and retaining membershipsKnowledge of cultural trends, insights, and consumer behavior as it pertains to membershipExtensive network with prospective like-minded business partners and membersExperience working with a CRM or club marketing softwareAcute understanding of desirable member programming and perksExceptional communication and writing skillsDeep relationships and personal interest in the sports and entertainment world is a plusAbout BoardroomBoardroom is a sports, media and entertainment brand co-founded by Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman.
