Associate Designer Position

The Associate Designer for Activewear will report to Design Director and work on entire product life cycle including trend research, inspiration, sketches, mock-ups, details and fit.Responsibilities:Assist in trend, color, and print research for each seasonCreate technical sketches and tech packs for developmentCreate color CADs for presentationsCommunicate with overseas factoriesSource incoming swatches/trims from the factories for seasonal fabric developmentReview incoming samples to present at customer meetings; making sure submits are matching to standard and licensing agreementMaintain an organized design space (samples, files, visual CADs etc.) so that information is readily accessible to teammatesAssist in organizing samples in design showroomPrepare color cards for internal and external useAssist in preparing pitch decks and samples for client presentations as neededRequirements:Knowledgeable about fabric and garment constructionWorking knowledge of activewear market landscapeWorking knowledge of overseas product development processStrong communication skills to collaborate and communicate internally with cross-functional teams: Design, Sales, Production, & Overseas.Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skillsSelf-sufficient and able to work independently or as part of a groupAdobe Illustrator and Photoshop proficiencyDegree in fashion/apparel focus OR comparable knowledge/experience (2+ years)Additional Information: This is a full-time opportunityThe position will be based in New York City - Midtown Manhattan Hybrid - this position allows for one day a week of remote work (dependent on the needs of the week)
