Project Finance US/CanadaSummary of ResponsibilitiesThe Associate will be part of the team responsible for the origination, structuring, and execution of Project Finance debt transactions at BBVA New York, mainly in the Energy and Infrastructure sectors. The candidate's primary responsibility will be to support the team on the origination of new deals, execution of transactions, portfolio monitoring and other ad hoc deliverables. Among the tasks the candidate will be requested to perform are preparing presentations, credit proposals, debt sizing and reviewing and performing sensitivities on financial models. Major/Essential Job Duties:Supporting senior bankers in underwriting, due diligence, and financial analysis of Project Finance opportunities mainly in Energy and Infrastructure, including Renewables, Clean-Tech, LNG, Core Infrastructure and Telecoms;Take ownership of allocated workstreams to complete tasks within requested timelines and in line with expected quality standards;Preparation of marketing materials for client pitches;Preparation of credit proposals; Financial model analysis including debt sizing and sensitivity analysis;Completing transaction due diligence with direction from senior bankers;Preparation of Information Memos and Lender Presentations for lead arranger mandates; Assisting with and managing the internal approval process;Assisting with and managing the transaction closing process;Assisting with and managing the Portfolio, including working on waivers, amendments and other ad hoc requests;Internal reporting;Assisting with the training of Analysts and Interns.Skills, knowledge, and abilities/competencies expected of a successful candidateDegree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or related field;Experience working on Project Finance transactions at a bank or as developer/Sponsor; Formal credit training is a strong plus;Fluency in Spanish is a plus, but not required;Communication and presentation skills;Ability to work in a team environment and under tight deadlines;Strong understanding of financial statements analysis and of financial modeling;Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint;Knowledge of the Bloomberg Terminal is a plus.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $120,000 to $140,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus. Employment eligibility to work with BBVA in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions
