Construction Management / General Contracting company seeking an Assistant Estimator to join its rapidly growing 50-year-old company. The Assistant Estimator is responsible for assisting in the estimating of all trades including architectural, structural mechanical and civil. This candidate will work both independently and collaboratively with our Sr. Estimator and project teams to calculate major construction cost estimates, and be involved in the planning, development, negotiation, and contract execution of a project.We offer stable employment and a great compensation package including a competitive base salary, complete health and dental plans, paid vacations and holidays, 401 (k) plan and a great working environment that recognizes those individuals who go the extra mile for the company.The candidate must fit well within the company's core values:TransparencyIntegrityFocusTenacityReliabilityResponsibilitiesAssist Estimating Team with timely roll-out and execution of the entire estimate deliverable process.Assist in the Development of full-scope estimates based on Conceptual Budgeting, Bid-Build, Design-Build or CM/GC construction documents.Determine the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labor for construction projects.Organize and manage our historical dataAttend project site pre-bid meetings, site tours, and post-bid interviews as required.Complete pricing and bench marking research and maintain project documents and files in an organized manner.Obtain accurate and up to date pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers, etc. to utilize in estimates.Manage pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions.Develop relationships with members of ownership, architect and engineer firms and project team members to develop a clear understanding of projects scope during preparation of estimates.Leveling of subcontractor proposals.Maintain project files on file server in accordance with company standardsPrepare RFP package to be estimated by gathering related specifications from subcontractors and related documents.Effectively communicate with subcontractors, owners, and co-workers to obtain information necessary to complete pre-quoting tasks both via e-mail and/or over the phone. Maintain communication on status of all quotes.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results while maintaining a positive and professional company image.Job Skills & QualificationsDetail oriented, ability to multitask, and have flexibility.Ability to read and understand plans.Must have math skills; multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, conversion of units of measure.Willingness to learn and utilize Proest for takeoff / estimating / proposal creating purposes.Ability to meet critical project deadlines.Effective verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.Exceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.Ability to handle stressful situations such as heavy/varying workload and order accuracy.Work RemotelyNo
