This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while shaping the future of our organization.Strategic Financial LeadershipAct as the organization's chief financial strategist, developing and executing comprehensive financial plans.Provide expert advice to the executive team on fiscal policy, economic trends, and financial forecasting.Collaborate with leadership to align financial strategies with organizational goals and objectives.Budgeting and Financial OversightLead the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.Monitor and analyze expenditures, revenues, and resource allocations throughout the fiscal year.Ensure transparency and accuracy in reporting to stakeholders, including senior leadership, boards, and external agencies.Audit and ComplianceOversee compliance with GAAP, GASB, and other applicable financial standards.Lead the organization's annual audit process, preparing detailed and accurate reports to stakeholders.Maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to all relevant federal, state, and local financial regulations.Debt Management and Capital ImprovementOversee debt issuance and management, working closely with credit rating agencies to secure favorable bond ratings.Develop and implement capital improvement plans to support the organization's infrastructure and growth needs.Policy Development and Risk ManagementCreate and enforce financial policies to mitigate risks and optimize operations.Monitor regulatory changes and adapt practices to ensure ongoing compliance.Evaluate financial risk and develop strategies to address potential vulnerabilities.Leadership and CollaborationDirect and oversee the Finance Department, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.Supervise, mentor, and develop staff, ensuring professional growth and strong performance.Represent the organization at public meetings, presenting financial data and ensuring transparency.Education and ExperienceRequired:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, preferably in the public sector.Proven experience managing and supervising professional staff.Preferred:Master's degree in a related field (e.g., MBA, Public Administration).Professional certifications such as CPA, CGFM, or CGFO.Skills and CompetenciesStrong knowledge of governmental accounting standards, including GAAP and GASB.Expertise in financial analysis, public sector budgeting, and auditing processes.Proficiency with ERP systems and financial software platforms.Exceptional leadership, team management, and communication skills.Ability to convey complex financial information to diverse audiences in a clear, concise manner.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.What We OfferA leadership role in a dynamic and mission-driven organization.Opportunities to influence and shape financial policies and strategies.Professional development and growth opportunities.A collaborative and inclusive work environment.Why Join Us?This role is more than just a job"”it's an opportunity to lead and innovate.
