Brief DescriptionDescription:The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Trainer is a dedicated full-time trainer with experience and knowledge in delivering training in a warehouse environment. This individual will provide specialized safety training and Powered Industrial Truck training per OSHA standards, departmental, and project needs across all FreshDirect facilities.This person will demonstrate excellence in teaching while having the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower students to succeed. Promote plant safety by working with all department managers and employees to analyze processes and recommend safety improvements. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards by providing instructional training in policy, procedures, and all regulatory compliance.Responsibilities: Present, support, and lead-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude. Ensure that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working. Take initiative and proactively works to determine training and recertification needs then works collaboratively with Leadership to schedule and execute. Utilize multiple delivery methods to maximize comprehension and engagement. Facilitate classroom and field safety training for new hires and existing associates to include behavior-based safety programs & PITO Training Create microlearning content for beginning-of-shift Plant huddles Create job aids to help ensure that procedures are followed correctly and safely Track training records for data analysis and to present during safety audits Conduct periodic internal audits of all safety training and PIT operator qualification files and records to ensure compliance Must be able to understand how to operate all equipment in the facility with an ability to focus on operating procedures Ability to train and coach associates to understand compliance requirements Create an environment in which employees are looking to the EH&S Department for assistance, guidance, solutions, and continuous improvementKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced knowledge in Safety TrainingFollowing rules and regulationsIndustry standardsOperating equipment safely and efficientlyOSHA/ANSI regulations and associated best practices Excellent oral and written communications, including speaking/presenting before large and small audiences and on video calls Writing proficiency Data recording and tracking Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks including:Lifting up to 50 pounds;Twisting, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, kneeling, and stooping.Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required Two to four (2-4) years of experience operating Powered Industrial Trucks Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, eCompliance and iWarehouse Current OSHA 30 certification (General Industry a plus) Possesses or capable of obtaining OSHA 500 Trainer Possesses or capable of obtaining First Aid/CPR/AED Trainer Bilingual (English/Spanish) Travel up to 20%
