Job Title: Slitter OperatorLocation: Newcastle/Delaware City, DETarget Salary -$45k-$55kShifts: 12 hour shifts Operator I has qualified on one of the converting machines; Dusenbery, Titan, Duhau or Laminator. This job requires the individual to have an eye for detail. He or she must have a positive attitude and be open to learning. The individual must be result oriented.Essential ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate Slitter/Laminator machines which transform plastic bales or slabs into continuous plastic sheets or films of specified thicknessTroubleshoot, maintain and make minor repairs to equipment and adjust Slitter rollers for production line changeMonitor quality of material producedControlling Machines and Processes - Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles).Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material - Inspecting to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.Getting Information - Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.Handling and Moving Objects - Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.Judging the Qualities of Things, Services, or People - Assessing the value, importance, or quality of things or people.Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - Providing information by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in personMaking Decisions and Solving Problems - Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.Performing General Physical Activities - Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials in extreme temperatures.Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings - Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.Maintain inventory of material and clean working area.Education RequiredHigh School Diploma or GEDPrevious manufacturing experienceGood mathematical skillsAbility to prioritize & adapt to changing prioritiesFlexibility to work overtime when requiredAbility to work 24/7 rotating shift is a MUSTCondition (Environnent, Physical Demands, Hazards)Loud noise (hearing protection devices are required and provided)Extreme temperaturesContinuous walking/standing for up to 12 hoursFrequent lifting up to 50 poundsMust have no physical limitations that would prevent occasional lifting up to 50 poundsFrequent pushing/pulling up to 20 poundsOccasional pushing/pulling up to 250 poundsFrequent overhead reachingOccasional bending & twistingManual dexterityVisual acuityMandatory overtime may be required
