The Outside Sales Representative will build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients in the technical and manufacturing industries. This role focuses on identifying growth opportunities and implementing strategies to drive sales growth within the assigned territory.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Relationship Management:Expand the customer base and consistently meet or exceed individual and company sales targets within the designated region.Establish and nurture relationships with electrical contractors, distributors, end-users, and utilities through regular client visits and proactive engagement.Reconnect with former customers and actively pursue new opportunities to strengthen customer relations.Collaboration and Coordination:Partner with vendors, internal teams, and strategic business partners to ensure customers receive optimal value and support.Work closely with internal departments to ensure smooth and accurate processing of customer transactions.Coordinate services with customers and field teams, including scheduling, preparing necessary materials, and communicating service expectations effectively.Sales and Technical Expertise:Utilize in-depth industry knowledge to recommend technical and practical solutions to customers' electrical needs.Drive sales of remanufactured and reconditioned power distribution and control products, including switchgear and HV/LV breakers.Conduct site visits and job walk-throughs to ensure accurate and profitable project quotes.Strategic Planning:Develop and execute a regional sales strategy in collaboration with leadership and business units.Participate in sales and budget planning for the assigned territory.Attend trade shows, customer events, and other industry gatherings to network and promote the company's services.Customer Support:Monitor delivery schedules to ensure projects remain on track.Generate work orders, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely execution by field technicians.Handle client communication professionally, resolve issues, and identify opportunities to expand project scopes or negotiate additional charges.Additional Duties:Perform other duties as assigned to support overall business objectives.Required Skills and QualificationsEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of 8 years of experience, with a strong preference for sales experience in the utility and industrial markets.Technical Knowledge:Extensive product knowledge of electrical switchgear, control products, and electrical distribution systems.Familiarity with industry standards such as NETA, NEC, OSHA, and NFPA.Experience with high-voltage equipment up to the 230 kV class.Sales and Negotiation Expertise:Proven track record of driving business growth, generating leads, and closing sales.Strong skills in negotiations and customer relationship management.Technical Proficiency:Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); experience with CRM systems preferred.Key Attributes:Focused on identifying business opportunities and achieving growth targets.Creative problem-solving abilities and adaptability in dynamic situations.This role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled sales professional to leverage technical expertise and drive growth in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
