The company offers civil engineering services, environmental services, and water resources engineering services. They are currently in search of a Civil Engineer with a hydraulic focus to collaborate closely with one of their Principals on unique engineering projects, client interaction, and hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS. With multi-year projects already in progress with various organizations across California, the firm has secured a promising trajectory well into 2033 and beyond.What you will do:· Apply advanced level skills to create and apply hydrologic and hydraulic models to engineering problems. Will utilize HEC-RAS. 1D and 2D modeling.· Manage projects and delegate work to junior staff.· Manage the engineering tasks related to the hydraulics of bridge maintenance, replacement, or construction projects and complete the related scour calculations, bridge hydraulic studies, location hydraulic studies, and summary floodplain encroachment reports.· Represent the company as the primary technical contact to outside firms and clients performing contracted services by aiding in the preparation of technical documents, monitor the progress of work, provide technical assistance, and perform plan check reviews.· Serve as a subject matter expert for civil engineering design and construction, storm water management and erosion control as a Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD).· Prepare and review reports and construction documents for all types of complex civil design projects, including criteria, calculations, construction sketches, construction specifications and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and permit applications (including Central Valley Flood Protection Board (CVFPB), National Pollution Discharge Elimination System NPDES).· Provide services such as field observations, review construction submittals, respond to requests for information, and prepare sketches for design clarifications and field modifications.· Prepare models, applications, and reports for the submission of Conditional Letters of Map Revisions (CLOMR) and Letters of Map Revisions (LOMR) to ensure projects meet FEMA requirements.· Work with minimum supervision of Senior Engineers and company Principals.· Other duties and projects assigned as required.Who you are:· Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience; Master's Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.· Open to either a Junior Engineer, Assistant Engineer or Associate Engineer.· Professional registration as a Civil Engineer in the State of California, highly preferred and/or completed the EIT designation with the desire to procure the P.E. licensure.· Experience developing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and post construction stormwater treatment designs. Experience working with projects involving rivers and culverts, highly desired.· Expertise in the use of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software including HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-SSP, SRH-2D, 1D and 2D.· Knowledge and experience preparing permit applications including CVFPB permitting, NPDES permitting, and the preparation of CLOMR and LOMRs.· Advanced Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD Civil 3D for the preparation of working drawings.· Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.· Outstanding organizational skills.· Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.· Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.· Ability to travel to field reviews primarily in Northern California.Benefits:Our client offers a competitive compensation package including, market rate base salary, bonus program, medical, dental & vision benefits, 401k match, work/life balance, and flexible work schedule.Compensation:Junior Engineer: $74,880 - $93,600 (Less than 2 years' experience, EIT highly preferred)Assistant Engineer: $88,400 - $114,400 (2 years + experience, EIT and/or PE highly preferred) Associate Engineer:$104,000 to $130,000 (2 to 10 years+ experience, PE required)Final compensation package will be determined by the work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
