With a strong portfolio of residential properties, we are committed to strategic growth, operational excellence, and providing residents with high-quality, innovative housing solutions.Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee the daily operations of our multifamily real estate business. The COO will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to implement strategic initiatives, enhance operational efficiency, and drive the growth and profitability of the company. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing multifamily portfolios, optimizing business processes, and leading cross-functional teams.Key Responsibilities:Operational Leadership: Lead and manage all operational aspects of the multifamily business, ensuring efficient and profitable management of properties across the portfolio.Strategy Execution: Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership team to define and execute the company's strategic vision, driving the long-term growth and success of the organization.Financial Performance: Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and performance analysis. Monitor property-level performance, including rent collections, occupancy rates, and cost controls, ensuring the financial goals of the company are met or exceeded.Property Management: Supervise property management teams to ensure high-quality service, resident satisfaction, and operational excellence. Drive initiatives to improve tenant retention, reduce vacancies, and enhance the overall resident experience.Acquisitions and Development: Work closely with the acquisitions and development teams to evaluate new investment opportunities, oversee due diligence, and implement operational plans for new properties in the portfolio.Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards. Oversee risk management protocols to mitigate operational risks and safeguard company assets.Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing team across operations, property management, and support functions. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.Operational Excellence: Continuously assess and improve operational workflows, processes, and systems to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance.Qualifications and Skills:Proven experience (10+ years) in an executive role within the multifamily real estate industry, with a strong understanding of property management, acquisitions, and development.Demonstrated success in managing large portfolios of multifamily properties and leading operational teams to achieve financial and strategic objectives.Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, compliance requirements, and risk management strategies.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.Expertise in real estate technology platforms, property management systems, and operational tools.Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
