Medical Assistant

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client's medical facility based in New York City, NYThis travel opportunity is a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!Responsibilities:Perform venipuncture, EKGs, and assist with point-of-care testing.Organize patient flow, accompany patients to exam rooms, and assist with walking, transferring, and dressing.Assist physicians with procedures, take vital signs, relay patient instructions, and provide information to patients and families.Collect and process specimens and prepare patients for exams.Clerical and Administrative:Send/receive patient medical records, obtain lab/x-ray reports, and manage patient charts using EMR or manual methods.Enter orders into EMR and prepare prescription refill requests for physician approval.Schedule surgeries/procedures, verify times with patients, prepare charts, and complete consent forms.Schedule appointments, verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.Perform pre-certification for procedures and check insurance info.Medical Supplies & Equipment:Inventory and reorder medical supplies as needed.Set up examination rooms and instruments, following sterilization and infection control policies.Maintain logging systems for medication refrigeration, point-of-care testing, sterilization processes, etc.Check expiration dates on medications and supplies, dispose of expired items per policy.Safety & Compliance:Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to procedures and complying with legal regulations.Ensure compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols to protect against exposure to hazardous materials.Additional Responsibilities:Assist in maintaining medical charts, filing test results, reports, and forms.May perform proficient phlebotomy duties.Adjust and confirm patient office schedules as necessary.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED with completion of an approved Medical Assistant certificate course Medical Assistant certificate from an approved schoolBLS (AHA)Additional Information:Location: New York City, NYJob Type: TravelSchedule: 5x7- Days - 07:30 AM - 02:30 PMPay Range: $20/ hour-$21,50/ hour Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.Pride Health provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, company-paid life and long-term disability insurance, and optional supplemental life insurance for employees, spouses, and children.
