This Employee Relations Specialist will join a healthcare non-profit company in the Berkeley, CA area. This person will be responsible for fostering a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws. This role involves working closely with management and staff to promote a culture of mutual respect and collaboration. This is an in-person position with occasional remote days, but they need to be primarily in the office.Key Responsibilities:Act as a point of contact for employees to address concerns, grievances, and workplace issues.Mediate disputes between employees and/or management to resolve conflicts in a fair and timely manner.Ensure company policies are consistently applied and adhered to across the organization.Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints and allegations of misconduct.Stay updated on employment laws and regulations to ensure company practices are compliant.Maintain accurate records of employee relations cases and outcomes.Promote initiatives that enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field5+ years of experience in Employee Relations role, or equivalentStrong familiarity with California laws and regulations, specifically within the workspaceExperience working with labor unionsStrong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Ability to be onsite 5 days a week in Berkeley, CAThis will be a permanent, contract-to-hire position. The first 6 months will be as an hourly employee, then convert to salaried. Pay will vary based upon individuals' relevant experience across an estimated range of $50.94-$55.88. Health, dental, and vision benefits are available as well.
