Associate Attorney

We urgently seek a law school graduate (0-2 years) Associate Attorney for our fast-paced, dynamic, boutique litigation law firm in San Francisco. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, computer-savvy; MUST be a self-starter and have excellent writing skills.The position involves working in asbestos and other toxic torts, and construction defect. The firm offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, as well as benefits including 401k/medical/dental.Essential Functions: Direct and support investigations.Assess matters to aid in early resolution.Evaluate, create, and execute a litigation plan through trial.Maintain communication with clients including all client-required reporting and budgeting guidelines.Perform legal research.Prepare responsive pleadings.Propound and respond to written discovery.Draft meet and confer letters regarding discovery issues.Take and defend depositions.Prepare, respond, and argue law and motion matters.Attend court appearances.Prepare matters for trial, including all trial documents, motions in limine and trial briefs.Qualifications: Juris Doctorate degree and current good standing with CA State bar.Minimum 0-2 years' experience in civil litigation.Ability to settle cases.Strong research, analytical and communication skills (oral and written).We are an equal opportunity employer.
