Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Footwear Engineer to join their dynamic team!The ideal candidate will have a passion for footwear design and technology, along with expertise in materials and manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for developing innovative footwear solutions that meet performance, comfort, and aesthetic standards.We are an independent footwear company with a full stack infrastructure to design, develop, distribute and drive all go-to-market activity for global creatives in the sneaker/footwear space. We are focusing on talent from the world of design, music, creative culture and sports, it is the first footwear business to offer world class creatives their own independently designed and owned footwear brands at scale. Our Los Angeles headquarters include a full design studio that works closely with our global manufacturing partner to build best in class footwear from lifestyle to performance, and an extensive marketing organization to drive all direct, channel and brand activity. The intent is to partner with creatives to build global brands in footwear. Key Responsibilities:Pattern Development and ManagementCollaborate with Design and Development to optimize pattern elements to align with the design vision, cost, and manufacturing feasibility.Implement and oversee the pattern grading processes with established standards while maintaining consistent fit and design proportionsLast Creation and ManagementLead creation and management of footwear lasts and ensure they meet design expectation, contribute to overall fit, and comfort.Manage the company's Last LibraryLead mold development from initial drawings through to confirmation:Understand molded component technologies for creating shoes, including mold shop processes and lead times, factory procedures, materials knowledge, and ability to recognize and provide feedback on manufacturing concerns.Collaborate with Design and Development to review all 2D/3D files and optimize to ensure on-time tooling confirmationSupport the creation and management of tooling best practices and standardsSupporting the Product Triad Team:Participate in Tech Tear Down meetings with Product Triad team to continuously improve and solve for manufacturing and design visionJoin weekly triad meetings for all projects to provide guidance and supportReviewing and managing components, half stitched uppers, and EST/FSR trialsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in industrial design, Mechanical Engineering, Textile Engineering, or related field.At least 7 years' experience in footwear engineering or a related field.Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools specific to footwear engineering.Strong understanding of footwear manufacturing processes and materials.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Preferred Skills:Proven experience as an Upper and Tooling Engineer or in a similar role within the footwear industry.Strong understanding of upper materials and construction techniques. Knowledge of sustainable practices in footwear design and manufacturing.Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.The salary range provided in this job posting may vary based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, qualifications, location, and the specific needs of the company.
