The Senior Director of HSE / DOT will help VORTO bring AI to supply chains in the world's largest companies and will foster relationships with drivers and carriers to ensure unparalleled safety measures within the trucking industry.ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor the Carrier Auditing, Claims and Field HSE / DOT teams, both energy and non-energy relatedManage the vetting and ongoing compliance for roughly 1,000 brokered motor carriersEnsure state and national compliance with HSE / DOT regulationsEnsure carrier compliance with established journey management plansOversee and lead incident investigation and root cause analysisMaintain KPIs surrounding the company's DOT / HSE programsDevelop effective equipment inspection programs for all leased assetsLead presentations to customers, government officials, and / or internal operations75% travel to the fieldOther duties and special projects as assignedQualificationsExperience managing an HSE / DOT departmentAt least 10+ years of leading and mentoring HSE professionals in the trucking industryExperience with brokerage operations preferredExperience with client representation in hearing, depositions, and mediationsHAZMAT, flatbed, dry van experience a plusPrior oilfield experience requiredMust be a subject matter expert in all matters related to USDOT roadside inspections and the CVSA Out of Service CriteriaExpertise with drug & alcohol policies and proceduresExperience in writing policy and procedures for compliance with USDOT/FMCSA regulationsExperience in presenting findings to large groups of peopleFluency in speaking and writing in Spanish, preferred but not requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office (outlook, excel, word)Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency in all projects and an ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as necessaryAbility to multi-task projects and required tasks in an organized fashionAbility to work in a team environment as well as self-motivated in individual projectsAbility to communicate both verbally and written to all levels of the organizationCompensation$170-195kEqual Opportunity StatementVorto is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
