Our client is a global cyber security vendor and provider of Network Security and Observability Solutions.Due to extensive growth and success in 2024, they're looking to hire an experienced Senior Sales Engineer in the Bay Area responsible for North California technical sales support.You will play a critical role in supporting the Sales team to achieve revenue goals by delivering high-quality pre-sales technical support and presentations that articulate value to prospective buyers.This position requires expertise in network resilience, security solutions, and the ability to recommend the best possible technical solutions based on customer needs.Reporting to the Regional Director, you will engage directly with customers, and collaborate with Sales teams throughout the sales cycle.Responsibilities:Collaborate with Account Managers and the Regional Director to develop technical and business strategies to maximize sales success.Assess prospects' needs and assist in formulating strategies to win business.Provide tactical support to Sales teams during the decision-making process.Identify customer challenges and offer tailored, compelling solutions.Deliver specialized technical support using established best practices and available resources.Manage technical responsibilities for leads, including documenting customer infrastructure, identifying challenges, and uncovering potential projects.Assist Sales teams in achieving financial goals by contributing to sales processes, opportunity assessments, and forecasts.Create and deliver proof-of-concepts (PoCs), manage competitive evaluations, and conduct product demonstrations tailored to customer needs.Regularly interact with users to understand how systems are being used, uncover new opportunities, and recommend upsell solutions.Adapt to evolving customer scenarios, including multi-product integrations on shared networks.Travel as required within the assigned territory (40-50%).Demonstrate expertise in differentiating products from competitors and articulate competitive advantages effectively.Deliver dynamic, on-the-fly presentations that resonate with customer-specific needs.Research market trends and align solutions to emerging customer challenges.Contribute to sales strategies and build strong relationships with key accounts.Offer feedback to product management and engineering teams to influence product direction.Foster a positive, collaborative, and proactive team environment.Experience Required:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.10+ years of IT experience or 7 years in pre-sales engineering, network architecture, application engineering, or a related role.Proven ability to understand customer challenges, propose effective solutions, and achieve pre-sales success.Strong technical background in networking and applications, with proficiency in Linux/Windows operating systems.Familiarity with doing business within the region, including cultural awareness.Technical Expertise Required:Networking: Cisco routing, switching, gateways, and applications.Protocols: TCP/IP, SNMP, NetFlow, VoIP.Topologies: LAN/WAN (MPLS, Frame, ATM).Security: Security concepts and auditing experience.Tools: HP/OV, IBM Tivoli, EMC SMARTS, ArcSight (preferred).Performance management and fault/alert management concepts.Experience with SDN/NFV, virtualization, and public/private cloud technologies.Certifications (preferred): CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent.Experience responding to or creating RFI/RFPs.Knowledge of formal sales training methodologies.Exceptional communication, organization, and multitasking skills.Self-motivated with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.Package On Offer:Base Salary : up to $180kOTE : up to $230kRemote WorkingFull Corporate Benefits including; PTO, Equity, 401k, Medical & Dental, Training, etc.Interested applicants must be US citizens and be currently residing in the Bay Area.
